Back End Developer at Autochek

• JOB SUMMARY:
• As a Backend Engineer, you will build and maintain customer-facing products and tools that deliver direct business impact and shape Autochek’s long-term technical vision. This includes designing scalable backend systems, ensuring high-quality standards, and driving innovation in software development.
• Your focus will be on creating seamless, reliable, and efficient experiences that empower companies to grow, while preparing Autochek for expansion into new markets.
• You’ll be encouraged to use data and metrics to guide decisions, think creatively to solve complex challenges, and collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and growth teams to push the frontier of providing the best software experience to our customers and partners.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Design and build strong, resilient, and robust APIs, libraries, and tools to power
• Autochek engineers and operations
• Own functionality and scalability features by taking responsibility from inception to deployment.
• Uphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to the codebases,
• infrastructure, and processes you will encounter.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

•  Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience building scalable backend systems and services.
• Familiarity with Go (Golang) is an added advantage.
• Ability to design, build, and maintain reusable tools and libraries.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

• Strong understanding of software engineering development cycles and best practices.
• Ability to set and maintain high standards for code quality, scalability, and performance.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience in creating libraries and tools for engineers and operations.
• Hands-on experience building and designing scalable backend systems.
• Solid background in working with databases (SQL/NoSQL)
• Demonstrated success in contributing to backend engineering projects in fast-paced environments.
