    Audit Officer

    Job description

    • We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Audit Officer to join our internal audit team. The successful candidate will assist in evaluating internal controls, identifying areas of risk, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in audit principles and a desire to grow within the audit and risk management function.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct regular internal audits across departments to assess effectiveness of controls, accuracy of records, and efficiency of operations.
    • Assist in planning and executing audit engagements in accordance with the annual audit plan.
    • Identify control weaknesses, risks, and inefficiencies, and recommend actionable improvements.
    • Prepare clear and concise audit reports with findings, risks, and recommendations.
    • Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and follow up on outstanding issues.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and organizational standards.
    • Support external auditors during statutory audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of auditing standards and best practices.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Professional certification or part qualification in CPA, ACCA, CIA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
    • 2–4 years of internal or external audit experience.
    • Strong understanding of audit techniques, risk management, and internal control frameworks.
    • High attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel); experience with audit software is a plus.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
