    Assistant Workshop Manager

    Job Description:

    • As the Assistant Workshop Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the efficient operation of our welding and fabrication workshop.
    • Working closely with the Workshop Manager, you will oversee various aspects of production, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
    • Your responsibilities will include: Assisting in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of workshop activities. Supervising and providing guidance to workshop staff, including welders, fabricators, and technicians.
    • Monitoring workflow and resource allocation to optimize productivity and efficiency.
    • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Conducting quality inspections and implementing corrective actions as needed.
    • Assisting in inventory management and procurement of materials and supplies.
    • Collaborating with other departments to meet project requirements and deadlines.
    • Providing technical support and training to workshop personnel as required.
    • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and performance.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in welding and fabrication, with a strong understanding of related processes and techniques.
    • Previous supervisory or management experience in a workshop environment is preferred.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software applications.
    • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in welding and fabrication.
    • Relevant certifications or qualifications in welding and fabrication are a plus.
    • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
