    Assistant Manager – Accounts

    Location: Ota, Ogun State (Plant Location)
    Reporting To: Accounts Manager
    Salary Range: ₦350,000 – ₦400,000

    Role Summary

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Manager – Accounts to oversee financial operations at our plant in Ota. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely reconciliations, supporting compliance processes, and assisting the Accounts Manager in day-to-day accounting activities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Debtors & Creditors Reconciliation

    • Manage end-to-end reconciliation of customer (debtors) and vendor (creditors) accounts.
    • Follow up on outstanding receivables and resolve vendor payment discrepancies promptly.
    • Prepare aging reports for management review.

    Bank Reconciliation & General Accounting

    • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank statements and the general ledger.
    • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including prepayments, accruals, and fixed assets.
    • Support month-end closing activities and ensure books are finalized within set timelines.

    Compliance & Internal Controls

    • Ensure adherence to financial controls and accounting procedures at the factory level.
    • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audit exercises by providing required documentation and reports.

    Reporting & Business Partnering

    • Work closely with the plant team on invoice processing, transaction management, and cost monitoring.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports for management review.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
    • Manufacturing industry experience is an added advantage.
    • ICAN membership or ongoing professional qualification is strongly preferred.
    • Proficiency in Accounting Software such as SAP, QuickBooks, or other ERP systems.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
