    Assets and Liabilities Management Officer

    Job Summary

    The Asset and Liability Management (ALM) Officer will assist the ALM team in managing the organization's asset and liability profile to ensure liquidity, profitability, and effective risk management. The role involves monitoring liquidity, preparing ALM reports, supporting balance sheet optimization, and assisting in the implementation of strategies to balance risks and returns.

    Job Details

     

    • Assist in monitoring and managing the institution's balance sheet, focusing on liquidity and funding positions.
    • Contribute to the development and management of ALM strategies mitigating risks related to interest rate movements, liquidity shortages, and market fluctuations.
    • Assist in preparing reports that track the Group’s assets, liabilities, and liquidity positions.
    • Monitor and report daily liquidity positions to ensure sufficient cash flow for operational needs and debt obligations.
    • Track the Group's working capital and assist in preparing cash flow projections.
    • Support analysis of interest rate risk and development of hedging strategies against potential rate changes.
    • Conduct gap analysis to evaluate maturity mismatches between assets and liabilities.
    • Prepare ALM reports including liquidity, interest rate sensitivity, and gap analysis reports.
    • Provide timely and accurate ALM data to support senior management and ALCO decision-making.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to liquidity and asset-liability management.
    • Assist in preparing and submitting regulatory reports to governing bodies.
    • Assist with debt management activities, including managing loan facilities and ensuring timely repayments.
    • Track and monitor placements, bonds, and other treasury-related investments.
    • Support scenario analysis and stress testing exercises to assess the impact of market changes on liquidity and balance sheet strength.
    • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Treasurer to support ALM and treasury operations.

     

    Requirements

     

    • Financial and Analytical Skills (liquidity, interest rate risk, cash flow management)
    • Risk Management (market and interest rate risk understanding and mitigation strategies).
    • Technical Proficiency (use of financial software, strong Microsoft Excel and modeling skills).
    • Attention to Detail (precision in financial data analysis and reporting).
    • Communication Skills (ability to convey financial information effectively to stakeholders).
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
    • Treasury certification (e.g., ACI) or ALM-related accreditation is a plus.
    • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in treasury, asset and liability management, or a related financial role.
    • Familiarity with liquidity risk management, interest rate risk management, and ALM strategies.
