    Advisor, Global Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) TU

    JOB SUMMARY:

    • This position will provide technical advisory support to International Medical Corps Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) portfolio in partnership with global/HQ and country program staff across Africa, Asia, and Middle East regions.
    • The Sexual Reproductive Health Advisor will have a strong technical background and will also contribute to the health strategic planning.
    • The Sexual Reproductive Health Advisor works under the Technical Unit which resides within the Quality Assurance, Research and Innovation department.

    MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Program development and implementation 
    • Support development of the sexual and reproductive health program strategy and related plans in full collaboration with the health, GBV and MEAL advisory teams.
    • Co-lead the alignment and integration of SRH interventions with broader health systems, mental health and psychosocial care, gender-based violence and other relevant sector areas, in collaboration with other International Medical Corps staff.
    • Support the development of SRH assessments, design, planning, implementation, and monitoring of programs.
    • Provide technical input for program development and participate actively in writing of funding proposals, reports and external communications for International Medical Corps global for SRH. 
    • Support development of SRH guidelines, protocols and standard setting for SRH interventions, including support to roll-out at field 
    • Contribute to recruitment, induction and the professional development of field staff through training, mentoring, and assisting with professional advancement on SRH program interventions.
    • External representation and visibility 
    • Support field and HQ teams for the development, preparation and dissemination of publications related to reproductive and maternal and child health including technical papers, documents, guidance notes and communications materials.
    • Support the Senior Advisor when required at relevant technical coordination fora, donor meetings and with academic health institutions, as well as sharing evidence and best practice through formal and informal channels.
    • Participate in networking and knowledge management with a view to identifying and facilitating partnership opportunities.
    • Develop quarterly workplans and reports to share within International Medical Corps HQ and with the global technical team.
    • Perform other technically relevant duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

    Job Requirements

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Typically, a Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery/Nurse-midwifery (Master’s degree is preferred); or an OBGYN specialist or a Master’s in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Public Health or related field. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
    • Typically, 10+ years’ experience in design and implementation of health programs in developing countries, including at
    • least 5 years in a technical or management position;
    • Demonstrable technical expertise and working knowledge of reproductive, maternal, neonatal and child health, preferably
    • in both conflict, early recovery, and development.  
    • Experience in program development including proposal writing for institutional and private donors
    • Demonstrated creativity, ability to apply innovative thinking and problem-solving skills;
    • Fluency in written and spoken English and fluency in French or Arabic is desirable.
    • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SPSS.
