A Junior Account Officer assists in managing the company's financial records, performing basic accounting tasks, and supporting the senior accounting team. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn and grow within the accounting field.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices and follow up with clients, suppliers, and partners as needed. Assist in the preparation and sending of invoices to clients. Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations. Resolve discrepancies and issues related to bank transactions.
Assist in Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Expense Tracking: Monitor and track company expenses. Ensure all expenses are properly documented and categorized.
General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the general ledger by posting entries.
Ensure the accuracy of financial data and documentation.
Support Audits: Prepare necessary documentation for internal and external audits.
Assist auditors with any information or data required.
Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the accounting department. Assist with other accounting projects and tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
Two years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Sage, Orion) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing issues.
Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
Willingness to pursue further education or certification in accounting (e.g., CPA).
