Qualification:                         BSC in Accounting/Finance, professional certification is a plus.

OVERVIEW
Our client, a secondary school in Ikeja is looking to hire a highly experienced Accountant to join the team.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Tax and Accounting
• Ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded and updated
• Maintain all accounting records in conformance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Assist in budget preparation
• Ensure all expenses are within budget
• Implement financial policies and procedures
• Monitor account payables
• Process vendor invoices, identify and resolve invoicing issues and accounting discrepancies
• Track and ensure prompt payment of school fees and other receivables
• Prepare receipts
• Conduct periodic reconciliation of all school bank accounts
• Process monthly payroll in a timely manner
• File both employee taxes (PAYE) and Company Income tax accurately
• Maintain the petty cash fund
• Make Bank runs as required
• Keep accurate record of all accounting documents including receipts, etc.
• Prepare the schools’ annual financial statements
• Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit
• Track all service level agreements with vendors
• Track and ensure prompt payment of utility bills, tax remittances etc.
• Implement cost containment initiatives
• Follow up on the schools’ insurance policies and claims recovery
• Record all financial transactions
• Manage the petty cash fund
• Follow up on receivables
• File all accounting documents
• Make weekly back runs
• Process payables
• Prepare report on all accounting activities
• Prepare monthly budget
