    Accountant

    Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will (but is not limited to):

    • Maintain and update accurate and complete financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
    • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Process and reconcile all financial transactions related to vendor payments, invoices, commissions, and employee reimbursements.
    • Monitor and manage agency cash flow and ensure sufficient liquidity to support operations.
    • Lead the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of department and agency-wide budgets.
    • Analyze financial trends, identify discrepancies, and recommend strategies for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
    • Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring complete documentation and compliance with audit requirements.
    • Develop and implement strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent financial misstatements.
    • Manage and optimize the use of financial systems (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks); ensure timely upgrades and data accuracy.
    • Collaborate with the Sales, Operations, and HR departments to integrate financial insights into operational strategies.
    • Track employee commissions, bonuses, and travel reimbursements, ensuring adherence to company policy and tax rules.
    • Maintain an up-to-date fixed asset register, depreciation schedules, and manage asset disposals.
    • Assist with financial due diligence and performance monitoring of real estate projects, leases, and investment opportunities.
    • Liaise with banks, auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities as required.
    • Manage receivables and actively follow up on outstanding client payments.
    • Lead and mentor junior finance team members, ensuring skills development and high performance.

    Requirement

    • A Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field related-field.
    • Minimum of 10 years experience in accounting, preferably in real estate, or any related-field.
    • Must be a Chartered Accountant with valid certifications from both ICAN and ACCA.
    • Proven knowledge of financial and management accounting, budgeting, cash flow management, and tax compliance.
    • Proficient in the use of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and advanced Excel functions.
    • Sound knowledge of local and international tax laws, including VAT and travel-related taxes.
    • Experience working in high-transaction environments, especially involving bookings, commissions, and vendor payments.
    • Familiarity with financial regulations and reporting standards.

    • Accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Efficiency in processing accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations.
    • Level of budget adherence and quality of variance analysis.
    • Timeliness of tax filing and compliance with financial regulations.
    • Quality of cash flow and working capital management.
      Number and impact of cost-saving initiatives implemented.
    • Audit readiness and outcome (minimal or no issues during audits).
    • Integration and collaboration with other departments for financial planning.
    • Reduction in financial discrepancies or payment delays.
    • Quality of insights and recommendations provided to senior management.
