Accountant at Candlelight Foundation for Children with Special Needs

Candlelight Foundation for Children with Special Needs is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering children with special needs, particularly those diagnosed with Autism, Dyslexia, and ADHD. We are committed to providing support, resources, and opportunities for these children to thrive.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and ethical Accountant to manage the organization’s financial records, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support transparency in financial reporting. The ideal candidate will play a key role in budgeting, reporting, and monitoring donor and grant-related funds, ensuring that all resources are used efficiently to maximize impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
• Oversee budget preparation and monitor expenditures against approved budgets
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations and tax requirements
• Prepare and assist with audits, donor reports, and grant financial documentation
• Support fundraising efforts by tracking and reporting on donations and grants
• Liaise with external stakeholders including banks, auditors, and government agencies

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Internal Auditing or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting (preferably in the nonprofit sector)
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles, nonprofit financial management, and relevant tax regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent)
• Strong attention to detail, integrity, and organizational skills
• Commitment to the mission and values of the Candlelight Foundation
