    Account Officer

    Job Summary

    • The Account Officer will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory requirements. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with 2–3 years of accounting experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in the accounting system
    • Prepare and post journal entries, ledgers, and trial balances
    • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
    • Prepare invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers
    • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
    • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
    • Assist in budget preparation and cost monitoring
    • Maintain proper documentation for financial records and audits
    • Ensure compliance with tax regulations (VAT, WHT, PAYE where applicable)
    • Support external and internal audit processes
    • Monitor expenses and ensure adherence to approved budgets
    • Liaise with vendors, clients, and internal departments on financial matters

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline with 2–3 years of relevant work experience as an Account Officer or similar role
    • Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
    • Basic understanding of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance
    • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
    • Good organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision

    Added Advantage:

    • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or ATS) in progress or completed
