    Account / Cost Officer

    Main Function

    • The Account/Cost Officer will be responsible for monitoring financial transactions, controlling operational costs, and maintaining accurate financial records within the organization.
    • The role involves tracking expenses, preparing cost reports, monitoring inventory usage, and supporting financial accountability across restaurant, bar, kitchen, and hospitality operations. The ideal candidate must be analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in hospitality cost management and accounting processes.

    Role Responsibilities
    Financial and Cost Control:

    • Monitor daily operational costs and expenses across departments.
    • Track inventory usage, wastage, and stock movement.
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cost analysis reports.
    • Verify invoices, purchase orders, and supplier transactions.
    • Ensure proper costing of food, beverages, and operational supplies.

    Accounting Operations:

    • Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
    • Reconcile sales, cash transactions, and expense records.
    • Support payroll processing and expense tracking.
    • Assist with budget monitoring and financial reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

    Inventory and Operational Monitoring:

    • Conduct routine stock checks and inventory reconciliation.
    • Monitor kitchen, bar, and store consumption patterns.
    • Identify cost leakages and recommend corrective measures.
    • Support implementation of internal controls and operational procedures.

    Reporting and Compliance:

    • Prepare financial and cost control reports for management.
    • Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
    • Support internal and external audit exercises.
    • Ensure compliance with operational and financial procedures.

    Qualifications and Requirements
    Education and Certifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
    • Professional accounting certifications will be an added advantage.

    Experience

    • 2–4 years’ experience in accounting or cost control roles.
    • Must have relevant experience in hospitality, restaurant, lounge, or resort operations.
    • Strong understanding of inventory management and cost control procedures.

    Skills:
    Financial and Analytical Skills:

    • Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
    • Good understanding of accounting principles and cost management.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

    Organizational and Communication Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good communication and reporting skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
