The Access Network Planning Engineer will oversee the design of Access network using various transmission media, ensuring cost effective solutions and innovative approach to network planning. The Access Network planning Engineer will be responsible for the followings:
Responsibilities
Co-ordination of site/TSS surveys for PoPs, MW links, equipment cabinets and tower deployment.
Generate detailed microwave link engineering document using Pathloss & other planning tools to meet set KPI’s.
Overall project planning, delivering, and updating on Project milestones through out project.
Ensure that accurate scope of work is issued to contractors to aid quick project delivery.
Provide support as required on last mile connections, involving MW radios and GPON.
Keep inventory/database of all deployed MW Radios & GPON links in the network.
Ensure strict regulatory compliance in the use of assigned frequency Channels and bands both in the licensed and unlicensed Frequency spectrums.
Prepare biannual deployed MW Radio links database to be submitted to the regulator (NCC) on agreed due dates.
Provide the required support to escalated issues from field support team.
Carry out frequency interference checks with Spectrum Analyser as at when required.
Review and validate BoM share by OEMs to ensure conformity to RFP ‘s.
Work periodical with technical sale/ Pricing to conduct PoP profitability Analysis.
Optimize Access network links from time to time for operational efficiency.
Qualifications/Skills
A bachelor’s degree or Equivalent in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or related discipline.
At least 1-3 years post NYSC related experience
Ability to interpret topography, network design maps and CAD Designs
Knowledge of Microwave Radios, GPON Technology and fibre optic transmission networks.
Good oral and written communication skills
Good Time management skills
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
May be required to travel out of station on a very short notice.
Demonstrate understanding of telecommunication industry standards (ITU-T, ITU-R ANSI/ETSI etc)
