As part of its approach, SAQIP is implementing a community intervention aimed at increasing the utilization of obstetric and newborn services in health facilities in the state. Specifically, SAQIP has established female self-help groups - called mothers’ groups - across 57 of 114 political ward in the state. Each group has about 25 members between 15 – 45 years of age. SAQIP offer these women: obstetric and newborn health education; literacy and numeracy trainings; and economic empowerment education. Members of the groups also have access to self-saving and loan facilities. These savings are used to pay for health events or other exigencies of life. The loans are mainly used to start a new business or expand an existing one. The project theorize that its approach will reduce poverty, increase intentions to utilize skilled health care, and improve decision making at home, amongst members of the groups. The changes will ultimately increase health facility delivery (and by extension skilled birth delivery) amongst pregnant members of the groups.
We seek a Data Manager (DM) will support the enhancement, development and implementation of SAQIP’s DHIS-based database. He/She will support the team in improving information-flow and existing systems- to guide SAQIP in informed decision making. The Consultant will support the design and development of data architecture and models to integrate tool and reporting needs of SAQIP and its CSOs for routine data collection, reporting, use and dissemination at all levels.
Specifically, the DM will actively support the following:
Period of Performance
The period of performance will be from 25th June through 24th November 2018. All work will be done locally in Abuja, with travel to Gombe. The successful consultant will report to Pact’s Monitoring Evaluation Research and Learning (MERL) Director and work closely with the MERL team.
