PROJECT BACKGROUND
Two thirds of Nigeria’s 11 million unemployed youth are between 15 and 24 years old. Over half of the unemployed youth have not been educated beyond primary school. Dynamic young Nigerians today typically aspire to more traditional careers in finance, business, law or public service, and they continue to flood to the largest cities, however their aspirations are hindered by a skills gap and few job opportunities. National employment strategies point to promoting entrepreneurship and supporting appropriate skill building as demanded by labor markets.
It is on this premise that the Pan African Youth Entrepreneur Development Program (PAYED Program) was created. The one-year program scaled best practices learned through the Mom & Pop Shop project and explored innovative activities that target youth and further enhance project results.
The one-year project trained and provided support to 281 youth entrepreneurs who are owners, managers or employees of small, retail businesses on business and financial management skills.
This Terms of Reference is for a contractor (referred as “Consultant” herein) to undertake the development of training materials for the
OBJECTIVE OF ASSIGNMENT
TechnoServe is in search of a highly qualified communications specialist to develop a communications strategy for a 2-day Pan African Youth Entrepreneur Development Program Summit (PAYED Summit) which will be hosted by TechnoServe in Abuja.
The ideal consultant should have significant expertise in the field of communications in a Non – Governmental Organization.
The objectives of the events are listed as follows:

SCOPE OF WORK
The Consultant will work very closely with the PAYED team to develop a communications strategy for the events, aimed at engaging both private and public sector stakeholders.
The Consultant will undertake the responsibility of coordinating internal and external communication content for the PAYED Entrepreneurship Summit. It should be understood that the tasks outlined below are the key responsibilities, but the full scope of woks will be provided upon engagement.

This is a 30-days contract position based in Abuja that will span over a 9-week period.
FORMAT FOR DELIVERABLES
All deliverables shall be submitted electronically in editable formats. If applicable, photographs or other graphics/figures in the reports will also be submitted as separate editable files.
