Job Description
- Develop strategic electrical plans by studying existing conditions, determining needs to accomplish operational plans.
- Prepare electrical engineering analysis of plant performance and efficiency
- Manage the electrical engineering budget and procurement strategies
- Oversee the scheduling of planned maintenance and manage critical, emergency and breakdown situations.
- Plan and implement electrical projects in line with budget and specifications
- Manage Electrical engineering duties surrounding the following; electrical devices, components, production equipment, transportation equipment, environmental control, materials handling, machine tools, and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Review and critique proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, or details.
- Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices.
- Analyse and resolve work problems within electrical department.
- Confer with other Managers and supervisors to coordinate activities with other departments
- Manage emergency response activities
- Design, document, and implement engineering solutions to provide maximum engineering effectiveness with the minimum of disruption to production and operations.
Job Requirement
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronics & Instrumentation engineering
- Minimum 10 years work experience in manufacturing industry.
- Advanced computer skills consummate with tertiary education
- In-depth knowledge in the PLC Programming and following software / devices: Allen Bradley RS Logix 5000 software, Programming of Allen Bradley panel Views, RsView software, Ethernet Networking, Devicenet configuration and troubleshooting, VFD drives, Servo drives.
- Experience Hydraulic & Pneumatic and Automation.
- Maintenances and operation of power Generation & high voltage and switch gears.
- Experience implementation Total Productive Maintenance System.
- Able to interpret electrical/electronic diagrams.
- Experience in quality systems and Statistical Process Control is essential
- Ability to read, interpret data and create reports as required.
- Ability to develop and promote good relationships with employees at all levels
- Sound leadership and mentorship abilities
- Good presentation skills
- Ability to work under pressure
