    National NGO Programme Coordinator

    About us

    Accelerating Localisation through Partnerships Consortium comprising of six International Non-Governmental Organisations (Action Aid, CARE, CAFOD, Christian Aid, OXFAM and Tearfund) is working on a flagship high-profile project supported by ECHO, a leading global humanitarian donor, across multiple stakeholders (national and international NGOs). The project is aimed at improving the effectiveness of humanitarian action through strengthening the local and national leadership in humanitarian response. This will enable local and national actors to accelerate action at national and global level that progresses the localisation of humanitarian response.

    About the role
    The role will involve ensuring linkages with national and local organisations and examining how to improve partnership models and strengthening the role and voice of national actors. The post holder will be located in Christian Aid’s Nigeria Country Office and work in close association with country team, Humanitarian Response Manager, Regional Response Manager, the Health Programme Manager and the Accelerating Localisation through Partnerships consortium (Action Aid, CARE, CAFOD, Christian Aid, OXFAM and Tearfund) and the National Steering Committee (NSC) to implement project outcomes in Nigeria including coordinating with the Steering Working Committee (SWC), line agencies, national and local humanitarian agencies.

    About you

    • You are required to have a degree or equivalent, preferably related to development or humanitarian studies, policy or international relations with at least 5-7 years’ work with NGOs and INGOs.
    • the post holder is expected to have a minimum of three years experience in programme design, monitoring and evaluation. You are required to have previous experience working with civil society organisations in Nigeria on both thematic and institutional aspects.
    • Advocacy experience within the NGO sector, negotiation, networking, analytical & strategizing skills are essential.
    • The post holder is required to have a good understanding of Core Humanitarian Standards and Protection Mainstreaming, good understanding of context of Nigeria and ECHO, EU or similar donor systems and compliance requirements.
    • You are required to have excellent report writing, leadership and facilitation skills.
