    FINANCE & CONTRACTS ASSISTANT

    JOB PROFILE
    Overall purpose: Under the supervision of the Head of Section, the Fin2nces & Contracts Assistant is ellPected to assist in the contractual and financial management of projects and programmes funded by the European Union, in particutar with tender procedures, calls for proposals, contracts, payments and follow-up of audit matters as well as to advise operational sections and beneficiaries/contractors in contractual. financial and audit matters.

    Functions and duties include financial management such as:

    • Contributing to the application of sound financial management as weli as legality and regularity of the implementation by tile Delegation and the Nigerian/ECOWAS authorities of EC/EOF financial cooperation programmes and projects.
    • General management and/or fellow- up of the contracts
    • Ensuring analysis of invoices, proper preparation and execution of payment orders,
    • Assisting in the planning and implementation of audit including field rrussions activities
    • Other tasks related to the financral implementation of EU development programmes

    Education/Training: A two years degree in economics, finances, accountancy or related field or equivalent qualification In one of these fields is required. A superior degree in economics, finances, accountancy or related field constitutes an advantage.

    Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in economics, finance/accountancy or related field is required, preferably with an international organisation or an entity dealing with development aid and projects. Excellent command of English language; both oral and written. Knowledge of French is an advantage

    Gross remuneration will be fixed depending on the provided proof of years of relevant professional experience as foreseen by the EU Local Agents' Framework rules,

    This postion requires a high degree of professionalism, an excellent oral and written communication, the ability to interpret financial data at an intermediate level, the capacity to communicate technical or specialised information, the ability to work in a proactive and autonomous way and be a team good player. It also requires a good intellectual capacity and cnucal analysis, good planning and reporting capabilities and strong organisational skills. The position also entails fleXibility as demands and pnonnes changes With frequent tight deadlines and a significant workload. The availability to travel Within Nigeria and internationally is also included
