Online Content Writer (French Language) at Wakanow

Job Description
Wakanow is seeking a creative online content writer with impeccable French language both written and spoken. If you have some knowledge/experience of francophone Africa, this will be an added advantage. The role will require you to create consistently engaging content about travel and tourism which should be able to generate interest and convert readers into customers. Other relevant skills will be a good understanding of how search engines work.

Responsibilities:

• Develop scalable content writing strategies and guidelines for our hotel, flights and travel business
• Research ideas and facts pertinent to the subject assigned and develop this into fresh, easy-to-understand writing in French that connects with our customers and generates sales interest
• Develop engaging content for articles, blogs, stories and social media to entice and engage audience
• Proofread content for errors or additions and ensure that content is written per guidelines established
• Ensure that web page content is edited properly to increase on-screen readability
• Copy, edit and proofread content created by other content writers to provide detailed feedback
• Work with SEO team to ensure that content is suitable for search engine optimization
• Develop prototypes and storyboards using a multitude of media creation and graphics editing tools.

Qualification:

• BS/MS preferred in social sciences
• Native/fluent in french and English

Experience:

• 2+ years proven writing experience (either corporate or freelance experience)
• Experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS)
• Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
• Experience working with keyword placement and SEO best practices
• Strong understanding of formatting articles on the web
• Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO and SEM
