Planning, preparing and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within their class
Prepare and plan work in accordance with schemes of work and national curriculum requirements; including subject expertise
Organising the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment
Teaching a variety of subjects according to the curriculum
Marking and assessment
Monitoring the development of individual students
Assessing skills and knowledge through tests and assignments
Maintain accurate and complete records of individual students' progress and development
Discuss and report on student’s progress to parents
Maintain good order and discipline, by modeling behavior and following the school’s behavior policies and procedures, that encourages a sense of responsibility and consideration for others
Maintain excellent classroom management with due regard to health and safety policies
Learning environment is stimulating and supportive of teaching and learning
Ensure punctuality and establish a purposeful working atmosphere during all learning activities
Qualification and Experience:
Any B.Ed, NCE or PGDE is a requirement
3 years’ experience teaching at the Primary School level
Demonstrable initiative, attention to detail and an enthusiasm for working in a school environment are important
Applicant must possess the ability to engage and motivate students at all levels.
Classroom management must be strong, accompanied with a sound knowledge of the Curriculum
Experience of using assessment data to set targets for children and to inform planning
