Job Description

• The Registrar is a Principal Officer responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day- to-day administrative activities of the University.
• The Registrar carries a huge responsibility in providing leadership for team-work and joint efforts in the achievement of the goals of the University.
• He/she shall be the Secretary to Council, Senate, Convocation, Congregation and other statutory bodies as defined by the University Law.

Requirements
The Candidates:

• The candidate shall be a person of high integrity and strong moral character with excellent interpersonal relations.
• He/she must be a team player with ability to delegate and instill confidence in others and command the loyalty and respect of people.
• He/she must demonstrate a deep knowledge of the complexity and challenges of managing a modern university system and must be able to effectively utilize its human and material resources to provide a world class administrative support.
• He/she must enjoy good health and possess demonstrable computer literacy.

Qualifications and Experience

• A good honours Degree (not below Second Class Honours) and a Masters Degree from a recognised University.
• Possession of a higher degree and membership of recognized professional bodies will be an added advantage.
• The candidate must normally not be currently below the rank of Deputy Registrar in a University and must have at least 15 years post qualification cognate experience 10 years of which must have been in university administration.
• Applicant must have been a Deputy Registrar in a university for a minimum of 5 years.

Conditions of Service

• The successful candidate shall hold office for a tenure of five (5) years with a further extension for 1 year if deemed necessary.
• Other terms and conditions are as applicable to any public-owned University in Nigeria and as may be determined by appropriate University Laws and the Governing Council.
