Job Summary
Operates vessel communications equipment, answer phones, carry out clerical duties such as filing and typing as directed.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and transmit messages between the vessel and shore bases, supply vessels, helicopters, and other stations by radio telephone.
Operate all communications equipment in the radio room; ensure they are well maintained and operational.
Ensure the maintenance of all electronic navigational aids where applicable.
Provide clerical / administrative support to the Master as required.
Coordinate crew changes by helicopter and boats.
 
Qualifications & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent Work experience in the position
Fluent English communication skills (oral and written)
Valid GMDSS General Radio Operator's certificate.
Valid medical examination
Basic computer skills
