Job description
It requires database knowledge with significant expertise in Data Modeling, Data Architecture and Database support experience including:
ï¬ Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products
ï¬ Do data modeling (Logical and Physical)and architecture
ï¬ Data Migration
ï¬ SQL and Code tuning
ï¬ Gather Volumetric information for Capacity Planning
ï¬ Evaluate Oracle features and Oracle related products
ï¬ Participate in establishing and maintaining sound backup and recovery policies and procedures.
ï¬ Implement and maintain database security
ï¬ Do application tuning and performance monitoring
ï¬ Setup and maintain documentation and standards
ï¬ Do general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
ï¬ Participate in Disk layout and Disk capacity planning
ï¬ Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support
ï¬ Set up and monitoring of data replication
ï¬ Help Monitoring and maintenance of standby databases
ï¬ Performance Load testing.
ï¬ Install, configure and setup Database and Real Application Cluster.
ï¬ Participate in building Data Warehouse and Reporting system.
Desired Skills and Experience
8+ years of core DBA experience
ï¬ A good understanding of the Oracle database, related utilities and tools
ï¬ A good understanding of Sun Solaris and LINUX
ï¬ A good understanding of Data Architecture and Data Modeling
ï¬ A good understanding of PL/SQL, Triggers, etc
ï¬ A good understanding of Oracle internals and Concepts
ï¬ Basic knowledge to perform both Oracle and operation system performance tuning and monitoring
ï¬ Knowledge of all Oracle backup and recovery scenarios
ï¬ A good knowledge of Oracle security management
ï¬ Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle
