Basic Responsibilities

Assure the editorial quality and integrity of dissertations and projects.

Essential Duties

• A.Assure the editorial quality and integrity of dissertations and projects.
• Review drafts of research; editing for correct grammar and spelling, proper punctuation, appropriate structure, and accurate APA formatting and citations.
• Ensure that dissertation and projects adhere to APA and international research standard guidelines.
• Draft an executive summary for the research report.

C.          Professional

• Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited institution in English or social science related field.
• At least five years experience in academic editing or composition instruction.
• Proficient in computer skills and working in an online environment.
• Superb written communications skills; including, grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, and proofing.
• Expertise in APA style (formatting, citation requirements, punctuations, etc.).
• Familiarity with social science research.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including track changes and other editing tools in Microsoft Word.

Physical Demands

• Majority of work is performed in front of a computer and on the telephone; must have ability to use the computer.
• Manage conversations in person, online, and by phone.
• Works under pressure and manages stress well.
• Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, and hear to perform essential functions.
