Data Centre Solution Architect at Ascentech Services Limited

Duties:

• Perform trend analysis, identify top few incidents and work with respective teams/individual to minimize the incidents
• Create DB roadmap, including release schedule and improvement initiatives.
• Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans in relation to DB
• Perform root-cause analysis of any DC related issues and/or UNIX issues.
• Trend analysis and capacity planning for daily operations
• Assist in implementing security blueprint and best practices, and troubleshooting of L3 issues
• Work closely with the Storage and Backup team to ensure the backup strategy is in place and expedite restoration of backed up content when necessary
• Develop and maintain operational support documentation for DBs and associated applications
• Create UNIX roadmap, including release schedule and improvement initiatives
• Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans in relation to UNIX
• Continuously monitor platform security vulnerabilities and remediate as necessary.
• Planning of testing and execution of server migration

Essential Skills, Qualification, Experience and General Requirements:

• A qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or an Engineering discipline
• At least 7 years of experience in a similar capacity
• Expert in Oracle Database, MySQL Database, Microsoft SQL, MONGODB, CasandraDB etc
• Experienced in Solaris 10, 11 & RHEL
• Experience in infrastructure solution design and data migration
• Wintel experience is a plus
• Expert in Hitachi, EMC, Huawei storages; or in Microsoft, Windows, Cloud (Azure), and/or Office 365
