Business Support Engineer, RAN SME at Airtel

Job Description

• The main activities of the RAN Business Support Function will be to support Airtel RAN customer complains quick resolutions , improve revenue and act as Subject Matter Expert to support Regional Operation on ZTE RAN technology
• In addition, the successful candidate will also Support in design, monitoring, troubleshooting, wireless networking, configuration, routing, and load balancers. Strong ability to lead a RAN team, communicate with all levels of the organization, and anticipate potential problems, and solutions for potential and occurring issues, is required. This is a fast pace environment that require quick thinking, and rapid solutions.   . 

Other job objectives will also include:

• RAN Implementation & Support - Maintains and implement RAN “BSC/RNC/Node B/RBS” environment by providing onsite hardware and software system support; identifying system improvements; upgrading, installing, and configuring systems; monitoring system performance.
• Support to reach quality performance of RAN equipment in Airtel network
• RAN Planning & Optimization - Coordinates with Planning, Optimization and Performance section for all required configuration changes.
• Ensure the availability of RAN network of Airtel
• Handling of emergencies outages in RAN domain “BSC/RNC/NodeB/RBS”
• Network Operations - Manage all network operation and maintenance tasks related RAN for Airtel Network.
• Organize the activities with other stakeholders in order to meet Airtel’s requirements.
• Implementation of urgent network changes to meet network KPIs and improve revenue.
• To implement effective monitoring procedures
• Daily routine maintenance and performance on the network
• Supporting field engineers in troubleshooting daily Node-B and RBS faults when required

Relevant Skill and Experience

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications
• A minimum of 8 years work experience in the Telecoms environment and ZTE expert level of proficiency is highly required.
• Must have good and strong telecommunications radio knowledge in RAN domain
• Good Knowledge on network evolution and standards bodies 3GPP, ITU.
• Good Knowledge on IP Networking and design
• Good knowledge about RAN design and dimensioning.
• Knowledge about Airtel  business processes and organization.
• Product knowledge within the indicated solution area
