Merchandiser (Interior Design) at eRecruiter Nigeria

Our client is a leading supplier of bathroom fittings, kitchens and innovative surfaces in Nigeria. With 32 employees across 4 locations in Nigeria, they are a one stop shop for building materials including sanitary ware, brass fittings, kitchens, gypsum board, Quartz and Eco Friendly surfaces. Our client are the official representative for a select group of manufacturers around the world including Ideal Standard, Ernestomeda, Armitage Shanks, Cosentino, Jaquar and Vink. They have executed several projects across Nigeria and their vast experience of the construction industry enables our client to handle and deliver projects at the highest quality. 

They currently have an opening for a Merchandiser in one of their showrooms. 

The ideal candidate day-to-day activities are outlined below:

• Produces showroom  sales by providing point-of-purchase and shelf management services. 
• Determines call schedule by reviewing priorities with supervisor; discussing special instructions, product promotions, new products, and price changes.
• Maintains customer relationships by visiting with store managers, department managers, and employees; answering their questions; responding to special requests; describing product features.
• Maintains store shelves by observing displays of company products; removing damaged ; tidying store shelves; providing optimum display of products.
• Maintains inventory by restocking shelves with product from inventory; observing inventory levels; arranging for return and credit for damaged products.
• Completes call report by observing display and pricing of competitors' products.
• Helps field sales representatives with special promotions by setting-up displays at aisle ends; checking daily on special promotions;
• Observing customer reaction to special promotions; forwarding observations to management; removing promotions at end of special promotion period.
• Provides information by reporting growth, expansion, or closing of showroom in assigned territory.
• Maintains quality results by following and enforcing standards.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Enhances merchandising and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Retail Sales associate, preferably as a Merchandiser
• Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
• Excellent product and job knowledge 
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills
• Track record of over-achieving sales quota
• Familiarity with inventory procedures and reporting 
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
• Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
• Availability to work flexible shifts
• Territory Management and industry knowledge
