Asset Manager at Alan & Grant

Job Description

• In this role the candidate will plan and manage assets according to our clients’ needs and work to beneficially grow their portfolio while minimizing risks.
• The primary function of this role is to assist in all aspects of the administrative, financial, capital and operations of the assigned portfolio

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Effectively manage client assets according to their investment preferences and mandate
• Develop the Investment Policy Statement for each client and review periodically.
• Assess client’s portfolio, future needs, investment goals and re-align portfolio appropriately.
• Strategically advise non-discretionary clients on what actions to take on their portfolios.
• Assess and manage portfolio risks
• Deliver alpha return on assigned portfolios
• Liaise with the Research department in asset recommendation and selection.
• Stay abreast of market and conduct independent research towards asset selection.
• Identify and develop investment products that are of value to clients. Foster and maintain positive client relationships
• Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of the portfolio.

Requirements, Education and Qualifications

• At least, 2-3 years of experience on a similar position in the financial services sector
• Capital market experience is important.
• A good first degree in Business Administration/Management Science/Social Science related discipline preferably in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• Professional qualification e.g. CFA, ACCA CIS, or related qualifications will be an added advantage.
• The ideal candidate must be attentive to details, possess interpersonal and communication skills, able to negotiate skillfully, possess strong ethics and integrity.
