As the leading advocacy group of all youth bodies working to end all forms of female genital mutilation in Nigeria, the Youth Network against Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting is a movement catalyzing social change by engaging young people and amplifying their voices to speak for the abandonment of Female Genital Mutilation through targeted advocacy to key players, capacity building and development, communications and media engagements, partnerships and program implementation. We also work on other sexual and reproductive health and rights issues.
The Youth Network on Community and Sustainable Development seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist in the branding and communications efforts of the Organization. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of communications for Development (C4D) while working in a casual work environment. The Communications Intern will work independently and in a team to fulfill organizational goals and initiatives related to programming and events.
This will be an interesting yet challenging role, to work with a Team of young and inspiring development experts to solve issues around sexual and reproductive health and rights for young people as well as ending harmful traditional practices like Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting.
Start Date: 21st January 2019 or earlier
Hours: 16 hours/week, including weekly planning meeting with supervisor
Compensation: Stipends to be negotiated when an offer is made
