    Project Assistant Internship

    Project Overview and Role
    Palladium is currently recruiting an intern to work as Project Assistant for the USAID-funded MEASURE Evaluation project.  The intern will be based in Abuja, Nigeria with some travel outside Abuja expected. The intern will assist the project with activities related to planning, logistics and administration, during which time he/she will learn from HMIS Advisors about project management, Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) and public health in general. This is a great opportunity for junior professionals who want to establish a career in public health as a Program officer, Monitoring and Evaluation advisor, or HMIS professional. This is a six-month internship position starting September 2018 and ending February 2019.

    Key Administrative Responsibilities:

    • Assist MEASURE Evaluation Senior Governance and Systems Advisors with event planning for MOH and other activity related meeting/workshop planning and implementation. This includes venue, accommodation, transport, and per diem arrangements for participants.
    • Maintain financial, procurement, and attendance records for all meetings and workshops.
    • Coordinate with local vendors to obtain quotations, coordinate invoicing, and process payments for all service providers.
    • Assist with the development of activity budgets for related project activities.
    • Assist with the preparation of training materials and meeting documents (printing, binding, organizing/filing, and meeting minutes).
    • Perform any other responsibilities as directed.

    Key Technical Responsibilities:

    • Serve as facilitation team member during technical meetings and workshop.
    • Compile selected indicators to track implementation of Master Facility List (MFL).
    • Take notes during meetings/workshops and support report writing.

    By participating in this internship, one will gain:

    • An understanding of USAID-funded project financial rules and regulations.
    • Exposure to aspects of design, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of results as related to an HMIS strengthening project.
    • An overview of Health Facility Registry management.
    • Experience with various GIS tools used monitor data quality and production of maps.
