There are two sets of people; those who allow stuff happen to them and react to issues and event and those who can see ahead and are proactive. Which one do you think you are?
For me, I like to be proactive. Being productive has a lot of advantage. I remember asking my manager once how he is able to detect some of the issues we are likely to face at work before it happens.
But I guess it actually because he is proactive. He watches out for issues before they happen. Sometimes it is because of experience but I believe that it is strongly a mindset and this mindset can be developed.
Being proactive is one of the key ingredients you are going to need if you want to be successful in your new role.
So how can you be proactive intentionally?
One simple thing you can do is to plan ahead. Is there any task you will be carrying out or is there any event happening. It’s time to plan ahead. Don't just let work happen to you. How prepared you are will go a long way in determining how successful you are. Remember, success happens when preparedness meets opportunity. So take charge today.
