2012 Yakubu Gowon Foundation Essay Competition for NYSC Members

The 2012 Yakubu Gowon Foundation Essay Competition is open only to National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in any part of the country. The restriction of entries to NYSC members is a tribute to the founding fathers of the scheme and an honor to all those who have passed through the scheme. YGF and NOA are hosting this competition in keeping to their various mandates of upholding worthy values and legacies of leadership in our nation, reorientation, mass mobilization, patriotism, peace, unity and service.

ESSAY TOPIC: Harnessing Our Diversity and Strength for National Development

ESSAY WINNERS AWARDS:

1st Place: N300,000.00
2nd Place: N200,000.00
3rd Place: N100,000.00
Seven (7) Consolation prizes: N50,000.00 each

SUBMISSION GUIDELINE:

The essay must have four parts:

  1. Title page
  2. Essay pages
  3. Bibliography (work Cited)
  4. Contestants Biography

This essay contest requests that submission be made in hard copies and electronically. All contestants should ensure that hard copies reach the address below before the deadline. Electronic copies are to be sent on CD or as an attachment to an email message in MS doc, RTF or PDF.

Entries must be submitted to the address below after the endorsement of the state director of NYSC directly or through the contestant’s state directorate. Essay can be sent only after it has been endorsed.
