    Logistics Officer - Supply Chain Analysis & Reporting, NOA

    • Under the direct supervision of the Head of Supply Chain, Job holder will primarily contribute to the planning, coordination and reporting of Supply Chain operations.     Job Description/Purpose

    • WFP Nigeria operation is looking for a Logistics Officer with a strong technical background in Supply Chain Management.

    Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)

    • Drive continuous improvement by analysing existing operational modalities to identify cost savings and service enhancements opportunities, include solution re-engineering / redesign initiatives
    • Prepare accurate, comprehensive, and timely reports and other visual materials that feed into Supply Chain dashboards to support informed decision-making and consistency of information presented to various stakeholders.
    • Support the monitoring of supply chain activities to check that appropriate internal controls are followed to increase the day-to-day efficiencies and overall performance of supply chain operations.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of supply chain plans and procedures in line with the functional/regional/global WFP supply chain strategy.
    • Perform market assessments and other market studies to build WFP knowledge base and create a fair, transparent and competitive working environment.
    • Coordinate with the Budget and Programming Unit for a seamless management of supply chain pipelines.
    • Gather and maintain key logistics information from national authorities. Monitor private sector developments in the region. This includes comprehensive data on logistics activities; infrastructure; establishing contacts; in-depth knowledge of procedures and bottlenecks.
    • Act as a point of contact for resolution of operational and reporting queries made to the unit. This includes collaboration with other staff in specific technical area of responsibility for a coordinated response.
    • Build and maintain productive partnerships with supply chain counterparts, including government and national organizations, UN agencies, NGOs and private sector to share operational knowledge and expand WFP’s Logistics Service Provision in Nigeria.
    • Manage the implementation of the unit work plan to measure success and foster continuous improvement.
    • Establish and monitor a performance management system in order to maintain a comprehension of current state while continuously working to identify means of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, tools and practices. Develop and implement recommendations for enhancements and improved efficiency

    Standard Minimum Qualifications

    • Education: Advanced University degree in Economics, Supply Chain, Shipping, Logistics or other relevant area, or First University degree with relevant logistics qualifications.
    • Experience: Three or more years of progressively responsible work experience in operations, logistics, including at least three years related to Supply Chain Management at any national/international humanitarian or commercial organization.
    • Language: Fluency (level C) in English language.

    Desired Experiences for Entry into the Role
    At least 3 years of post-graduate job-related experience in Supply Chain Management. This includes but is not limited to:

    • Analytical and conceptual work in support of strategy design and implementation;
    • Coordination of periodic supply chain activities across functions and with external partners;
    • Experience with process re-engineering and change management.

    Within delegated authority, the Vulnerability Assessment and Mapping (VAM) Associate will be responsible for the following duties under the guidance and supervision of the VAM Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

    • Produce thematic maps based on the analysis such as: food insecure, vulnerability and livelihoods Maps; WFP assisted programs target areas; seasonal hazards and shocks map from monitoring reports; seasonal hotspot area maps and assessment findings
    • Participate in Vulnerability and Food security assessments, monitoring and verification
    • Process all Vulnerability and Food Security assessment data for analysis/verification by the VAM officer
    • Consolidate and analyse market price data coming from field and partners
    • Assist in regular timely dissemination of information among CO, AO/SO, NGO, UN agencies, donors.
    • Provide data collection and data base programme basic training to the WFP field and Cooperating Partner staff.
    • Co-ordinate with National Bureau Statistics to insure a standardisation of population figures and names.
    • Participation in food security sector meeting

    • Job holder should have at least 3 years of postgraduate progressively responsible experience in food security, vulnerability analysis or a closely related area, such as food security or early warning.
    • Has worked with technical teams (i.e. nutrition, VAM, etc.).

    Job Purpose

    • To support site maintenance services in providing cleaning, laundry, basic garden maintenance, porter duties and other related manual work, to ensure WFP premises are well-organised, kept in a clean & hygienic condition and are in compliance with the established standards.

    Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)
    Reporting to the Admin officer, the staff will perform the following functions:

    Personal Hygiene:

    • Ensure highest standards of personal hygiene, including showering and changing of personal and work clothes on a daily basis.

    Food Hygiene Cooking & Handling:

    • Using the Guesthouse contributions, ensure that sufficient food is procured and available to be cooked when needed (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) Mondays through Sundays.
    • Ensure that the kitchen facilities are always clean and disinfected, including the floor, kitchenstove, kitchen shelves, kitchen pantry, kitchen refrigerator and kitchen freezer.
    • Ensure that the crockery, cutlery, utensils and other cooking items are spotless clean at all times
    • Ensure food is washed properly before cooking
    • Ensure food is served in clean serving pots
    • Ensure food is stored in the appropriate storage spaces including refrigerators, freezers and food pantry shelves for dry foods
    • Ensure that food is served in the appropriate and clean hot pots.

    Balanced Diet:

    • For example, every meal must have - salad, starch, protein and desert/fruits

    Beverages' Hygiene, Preparation & Handling:

    • Ensure that all beverages are handled with proper hygiene standards, including using clean utensils for serving and storage.
    • Ensure that freshly prepared beverages such as fruit juices (smoothies) are handled with the required and appropriate care following high hygiene standards of washing the fruits well before use.

    Communication:

    • Ensure clear communication both written and verbal to the Supervisor, Guesthouse residents, Co-workers (Cooks) and other staff at the Guesthouse.
    • Report any issues that require the Supervisor's attention or decision
    • Report all food contributions and expenditures in the appropriate ledger for the Supervisor's review including other Guesthouse residents who may be interested to review.

    Team Work:
