Job Description

We are looking for Nigerian based Transcribers (i.e. Transcriptionists) who will be involve in the conversion of audio or video voice recordings into written text formats (MS Word Format or i.e. voice-to-text) such that allows for (transcript) content analysis, content sharing as well as for safeguarding and safe keeping of the contents of a recording.

Transcriptionist responsibilities include listening to audio or video voice recordings and verbatim reproduction of the audio or video voice content in an intelligent standard format. It also entails listening to audio or video voice recordings in any local language and reproduction of same in standard English language.

Specific Task:

• Listening to audio or video voice recordings and verbatim reproduction of contents of the recordings in MS Word written format
• Listening to audio or video voice recordings in any local language(s) and verbatim reproduction of the contents in same local language or English language

Proofread completed transcripts for spelling and punctuation accuracy

Provide completed transcripts of audio or video voice recordings that meets our professional standards

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be a native or a near native speaker of each language being transcribed

 Must be fluent in speaking and writing of English language

• Must be proficient in relevant computer applications including MS Word
• Must have access to a computer and internet connection
• Must have good listening and understanding ability
• Ability to type 30-40 words in per minute
• Ability to transcribe one hour of an audio interview in four hours

Qualifications:

• A First Degree or Higher National Diploma in any field
• Fluency in spoken and written English and at least one of the local languages
• At least one year’s experience will be an advantage
• Ability to work under time pressure

We are looking for Nigerian based Translators to interpret written and audio pieces in different languages, making sure to maintain their original meaning, context and format.

Translator responsibilities include reading and thoroughly understanding the context of any given material. The person(s) for this role must have keen eye(s) for detail and must as well be fluent in spoken and written English in addition to any other Nigerian language.

Specific Task

• Convert text and audio recordings from one language to another
• Ensure translated content conveys and retains original meaning and context
• Provide ready-to-use translated content that meets our professional standards
• Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be a native or a near native speaker of each language being translated
• Must be fluent in speaking and writing of English language
• Must have excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors
• Must have basic computer knowledge and typing skills
• Must be proficient in relevant computer applications including MS Word
• Must have access to a computer and internet connection
• Must have ability to meet deadlines

Qualifications:
