    Job Summary

    • The Job Holder will be responsible for leading the Emerging Businesses and Agri-Finance teams to actualize the four pillars of the Bank’s Emerging Businesses propositions goals which are access to finance, access to market, access to capacity building and access to cost sensitive products.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee the Emerging Businesses product portfolio and drive their growth with regards to count, volume, income and quality.
    • Oversee the management of the the Bank’s Business Advantage Account (DBA) portfolio count, volume and Income; and implement initiatives to meet the needs of existing and potential customers.
    • Oversee the management of all special projects, collaborative interventions and partnership initiatives towards actualizing the proposition’s set goals.
    • Oversee the planning, organizing and actualizing of defined goals for all capacity development and support services initiatives for MSME clients.
    • Oversee the management of the Emerging Businesses Domiciliary Portfolio count, volume and income; and implement initiatives to meet the needs of existing and potential customers.
    • Oversee the management of the the Bank’s School Advantage Account Portfolio count, volume and Income; and implement initiatives to meet the needs of existing and potential customers.
    • Drive Agri-Finance development across viable value chains within the Agricultural sector and related sectors to support the achievement of the Bank’s MSME goals.
    • Drive the timely achievement of defined profitability goals for the Agri-Finance Unit in line with bank-wide objectives and target across all branches.
    • Liaise with the Credit Risk Division and regulatory authorities (CBN, NAIC etc) to ensure that all Emerging Businesses and Agric credit policies and products are regularly updated.
    • Ensure regular capacity development of Emerging Businesses and Agri-Finance teams on all EB and Agric lending policies and skill sets.
    • Oversee preparation and compilation of all monthly and periodic portfolio reports for management and regulatory use for MSME and Agri-Finance.
    • Ensure that all facilities are closely monitored for warning signals and proactively identify and mitigate same. Track income and prevention leakages to maintain high quality assets in the proposition.
    • Track and assess performance of the Propositions products portfolio bank-wide.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • A University Degree in any relevant discipline with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division (2.2).
    • Masters in a Business/Finance discipline will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 15 years’ relevant experience in Segment Management and Product Marketing with at least 8 years in the Banking Industry and 5 years in a leadership role.
    • Experienced in managing relationships at a senior level and managing a diverse (in terms of skill base and experience) team of people.
    • Extensive business and SME/retail leadership experience in the banking sector.
    • Must possess a track record of increasing and sustaining sales growth and profitability in challenging market conditions such as the current economic climate
    • Must demonstrate a proven ability to motivate, coach and develop people

    Job Summary

    • The Segment Head has full P&L accountability for the products and customers within the segment and is responsible for implementing the value proposition strategies for customer acquisition, engagement and retention.
    • Also responsible for end-to-end management of the product portfolios in the segment, business development, and profitability of the segment.
    • The Segment Head is in charge of overall coordination of people, resources and ideas to achieve the objectives of the segment and manage the products that serve the segment.

    Key Responsibilities
    Segment and Product Ownership:

    • Coordinate the development and deployment of value propositions, product offerings, target segment strategy, and business plan for customer acquisition, engagement and retention.
    • Direct the development of product sales and marketing strategy to ensure achievement of product sales and volume budget across all Areas
    • Oversee mapping of existing and new products to value propositions
    • Drive the overall definition of product requirements such as (segment needs, channel preferences, high-level product characteristics) to product managers and all stakeholders.
    • Oversee preparation of product budget and business plans including target sales, volume, marketing strategy, consumer segmentation, product positioning, objectives and life cycle recommendations to achieve overall business goals.
    • Monitor specific sales & marketing campaigns to leverage market opportunities that generate new sales/volumes and increase market share.

    Segment, Product & Market Research:

    • Coordinate product & market research to determine product sales / market penetration potential across Areas; develops and proposes best course of action for management consideration & improve performance.
    • Regularly review market & consumer trends to uncover new product opportunities across Areas, disseminates identified insights in a timely manner for execution
    • Identify new market opportunities, directing Area Managers, Segment Executives & Retail Analysts appropriately to ensure these are fully leveraged to grow sales and volume
    • Coordinate the review and analyses of existing product portfolio to identify new cross sell opportunities.
    • Assess market competition by comparing the segment offerings to competitors' offerings.
    • Drive engagement within the segment to ensure robust communication on product performance, product / market changes and relevant product, market insights.
    • Coordinate activities of Product Managers to ensure identified Area opportunities are presented

    Product Analytics & Management Reporting:

    • Coordinate relevant report preparation to monitor customer acquisition, engagement and retention across Branches, Areas, and Directorates.
    • Coordinate regular reporting to Head, Consumer Banking and Executive management on the segment and product performance
    • Liaise with FINCON to extract relevant segment and product related performance data for budgeting, monitoring, and reporting.
    • Disseminate segment based performance reports & offers performance improvement insights & strategies for poorly performing Areas.

    Risk & Compliance:

    • Coordinate engagement with Risk Management and Compliance unit to monitor and ensure product offerings are in compliance with the bank’s policies and regulatory requirements
    • Ensure delinquency management on all products in liaison with retail risk management (where applicable).

    Job Summary

    • The Head, Consumer Banking has full responsibility for the oversight of Consumer Banking Businesses and initiatives to ensure successful customer service delivery and strategy implementation.
    • Responsibilities of the position include P&L accountability for liability and consumer loans services, new product research and business development, customer service and loyalty delivery systems, employee enrichment, education and training, performance management, cost/benefit analysis of existing products, preparation of detailed reports for executive committee and board meetings, and regulatory compliance.

    Key Responsibilities
    Strategy & Business Development:

    • Provide support to the CEO, Head Retail Businesses and other Divisional Heads for the development and communication of the Bank’s corporate strategy, business priorities and targets for all Strategic Business Units.
    • Use current trends to make logic-based predictions about future consumer activities to support the articulation of a cutting-edge Consumer Banking strategy.
    • Assess market conditions, and define, implement and monitor approved Consumer Banking strategies to achieve defined objectives and sustain the bank’s competitive edge.
    • Drive the development of the annual consumer banking budget and ensure buy-in of Segment Managers. Review financial data and support the Segment Managers by providing input into the budgeting process.
    • Drive the decision-making process for all strategic and operation matters in the Consumer Banking Division and manage the allocation of resources in line with the Division’s annual budget.

    Supervise Product & Market Research and Portfolio Management:

    • Provide guidance in utilizing market research to identify customer needs/trends and opportunities for new product innovation and product enhancements.
    • Review market & consumer trends to identify new product opportunities across all segments; ensure identified insights are disseminated in a timely manner to aid informed decision making and execution.
    • Review and analyse existing product portfolio to identify and recommend cross-selling opportunities.

    Engagement with Directorate Heads & the rest of the Network:

    • Drive Segment Managers’ engagement with all SBUs ensuring:
      • Timely & regular communication on product performance
      • Timely & regular communication on product / market changes
      • Relevant product, market insights & identified Area opportunities are presented
      • Successful execution and monitoring of product marketing campaigns
      • Oversee Branch/Area webinars, meetings, visits and joint customer calls by Segment Heads/Product Managers to obtain market feedback and understand peculiarities of local operating environment.

    Risk & Compliance:

    • Manage risk arising from political/ethnic/religious conflict and potential threats to operational efficiency and revenues.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and quickly adapt to changing regulatory environment which may influence revenue-generation opportunities and increase cost of compliance.
    • Work closely with Risk Management and Compliance unit to monitor and ensure product offerings are in compliance with the bank’s policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensures delinquency management on all products in liaison with retail risk management (where applicable).
