The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is directly responsible for managing and supervising all finance and accounting activities of the financial institution. Candidate Works closely with the CEO in achieving the company’s financial objectives, within the strategy and business plans.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage generation of financial statements according to International Financial Reporting Standards and Group reporting
Manage timely reporting to relevant local authorities (central bank, tax office, etc.) and other stakeholders
Analyse financial data and develop financial analysis as a key management tool with the aim of optimizing the institution’s activities: identify risks, inefficiencies, negative tendencies, and propose measures that reduce risks, improving efficiency, and reverse negative tendencies
Create/modify procedures such that they are low-risk and efficient
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bsc in Accounting or a related discipline.
Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Management (recommended)
Extensive experience in best-practice financial management in the Financial Sector
Ten (10) years’ relevant experience with at least four (4) years in a Senior Management position of an Accounting/Finance dept. within the financial services industry.
Strong awareness/ understanding of trends and recent developments in the banking and finance services industry.
Strong ability to manage market, liquidity and other types of enterprise risks.
Banking experience, or experience working in a regulated financial institution (recommended)
Knowledge of Capital market regulation relating to issuance of bonds and other types of financial dynamism.
The Company Secretary/Legal Adviser will organise all board secretarial activities and ensure guidance in the execution of the Company’s corporate governance structure. Candidate will provide effective administrative support in the execution of the institution’s corporate governance and advise management on company law and agreements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures the statutory books, registers and other records which the institution is required by law to maintain.
Provide a comprehensive Legal Service to deal with legal issues.
Provide secretarial and administrative support to the institution’s Board, including preparation of agenda, papers, resolutions, and minutes.
Deal with correspondence, collating information and writing reports, ensuring decisions made are communicated to the relevant company stakeholders;
Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment, and take appropriate action;
Liaise with external regulators and advisers, such as lawyers and auditors;
JOB REQUIREMENTS
LL.B (Hons), Law/ B.L, Law
Seven (7) years’ relevant experience as a Company Secretary in a reputable organisation.
Membership of relevant professional bodies i.e. ICSA will be an advantage.
Knowledge of laws guiding Capital Importation would be an added advantage
Excellent communication, persuasion and documentation skills.
Demonstrates leadership and complex organizational management skills.
