Job Description

• Maintaining and supervise daily Logistics and Warehouses operations. such as: ensuring the efficient receiving, storing, packing and shipping of goods, as well as managing inventory control, freight using the SAP ERP & EWM system.
• Ensure applying department standard operations procedures by ensuring that all products at their places with the agreed standards for effective results.
• Review and analyze warehouse stock to ensure there is no overstock to maintain company goods. 
• Review and analyze warehouse team productivity by analyzing the number of lines achieved …etc. 
• Review and follow up on the return orders to make sure of the expiry date and quality status. 
• Manage and follow up & scanning expires process to remove all products that are near to expired. 
• Manage to receive and deliver expires from customers to SAP.  
• Conduct and follow up stock take process to ensure system balance is equal to a physical one. 
• Ensure the availability of all operations tools and equipment to ensure no work interruptions.
• Follow up with maintenance concerned employees the operation tools and equipment to ensure smooth work operations. 
• Communicate and resolve any escalated problems related to the warehouse along with all concerned parties to ensure smooth work operations.
• Analyze cost and benefit of available supply chain options, such as common carriers, air freight etc. 
• Improves customer service from warehousing standpoint at optimal cost. 
• Managing inventory control, freight optimization and transportation costs. 
• Developing strategies to maximize efficiency. 
• Adhering to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements. 
• Managing and monitoring warehouse and logistics operations, complying with time, cost and quality specifications and taking the optimal capacity utilization into account. 
• Providing clear directions and general guidance to the department in the formulation of basic policies and procedures and ensures that these are translated into actions.

About the Job

• The category for this position is Idle Asset, Scrap and Waste Disposal.
• The idle asset, scrap and waste disposal officer is responsible for the efficient and timely disposal of obsolete/written off assets, material wastes and scrap items generated across all company plants and office locationsThis role ensures that disposal processes align and are in compliance with company policies, environmental regulations and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the identification, categorization, and disposal of obsolete assets.
• Develop and maintain a schedule for regular disposal activities to ensure timely processing.
• Work closely with the supply chain function, all plant managers, finance BP to assess and approve disposal requests.
• Ensure all plants and office locations adhere to relevant policies on Idle assets, wastes and scrap management.
• Maintain records of disposed assets.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on disposal activities and compliance status.
• Identify and engage with certified disposal vendors for various types of waste and obsolete assets.
• Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and efficient disposal processes.
• Analyse spot disposal and take proactive actions to ensure plants and locations are clear of waste that might be of an environmental hazard.

Knowledge & Experience

• University Degree (Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Legal or similar course is an added advantage)
• Knowledge of procurement process especially in the specified category [scrap & waste disposal) is required
• CIPS preferred or other certification is an added advantage
• 3-5 years experience in Procurement processes and activities.
• Knowledge and use of SAP, other ERP systems with focus on Purchasing is an asset
• Efficient use of Microsoft Office packagesEspecially Microsoft Excel & Powerpoint.
