About the Role

• Beyond Credit Limited is seeking a Loan Verification Officer to join our expanding team. You’ll verify loan applications, ensure compliance, and protect the integrity of our loan portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify loan applications and supporting documents.
• Conduct field visits to confirm borrower information and collateral.
• Ensure adherence to lending policies, internal controls, and regulations.
• Identify risks or irregularities and recommend solutions.
• Collaborate with Loan Officers and other teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Keep accurate records and prepare regular verification reports.

Requirements

• B.Sc Degree / HND qualification in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 1 - 2  years of experience in loan verification, internal control, or risk management (microfinance/financial institution preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• High integrity and ability to work independently.

ob Description

• Recover bad debts from debtors who show an unwillingness to pay back the loan taken.
• Conduct regular reviews and visits to clients with outstanding loan portfolios at risk.
• Daily review of all the outstanding and overdue loan clients.
• Make regular reports and suggestions to the bank on actions required to protect its funds from bad loan clients.
• Recovery of classified loans.
• Initiates the process to prosecute hardcore debtors in line with the guiding bank policy,
• Negotiate work out plans with willing debtors.
• Liaise with branches to manage and monitor non-performing loans.
• Any other responsibilities that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

• Candidates should possess an HND or a B.Sc Degree
• Excellent communication skills
• 1 – 3 Years of experience in Recovery in a Microfinance Institution
• Good analytical and negotiation skills with experience
• Great planning and multitasking skills to ensure the delivery of excellent jobs
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, listening skills and ability to communicate and negotiate with debtors
• Articulate and result-oriented
• High level of integrity
• Ability to keep records and be a great team player
• Must possess a strong methodical approach to complete the assigned task
• Accurate, organised and motivated
• Previous loan recovery experience.
