    Utilities Technician, Challawa Plant

    The Utility Technician reports to the Utility Controller and is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment in the utility section by the approved policies & procedures of the company to ensure the availability of quality service to production & other areas of the plant.

    IS THIS YOU?

    • Relevant Engineering Certificate or equivalent Certificate HND/BSc
    • Min. 3 years’ experience in a technical position most appropriately with and a shop floor role.
    • Good understanding of plant HQSE modalities and codes.
    • Basic Knowledge of computer skills.
    • Appropriate command and use of the English Language-Spoken and written.
    • Significant experience with a measure of cost reduction initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
    • Good understanding and experience of current manufacturing methodologies.
    • Good oral communication, influencing and relationship skills.
    • Good analytical skills

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Operates steam boilers, air compressors, power distribution equipment etc. to ensure quality service delivery
    • Maintain all equipment under utilities to minimize down time.
    • Maintain CO2 access points as per specification -Must be locked always.
    • Carry out equipment monitoring as per checklist, document findings and recommend actions to be taken. Write equipment shift operation report.
    • Lubricate equipment as specified in the lubrication chart and documentation. Clean and wash all stains on equipment after lubrication
    • Ensure all safety sensors, reflectors & safety controls are in good working condition.
    • Use all company provided protective wear and gadgets and comply with all Health and Safety rules.

    Plant Quality and Food Safety Lead

    Plant Quality & Food Safety Lead reports directly to Plant Quality & Environment Manager and indirectly to the Scientific & Regulatory affairs manager and has overall responsibility for effective implementation and management of Quality, Food Safety and process control programs, digitalization of process control data initiatives in the entire Plant Supply Chain operation.

    IS THIS YOU?

    • Minimum bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in sciences or related disciplines.
    • Must have minimum of 5 years in similar position or related experience in a FMCG
    • Excellent Technical knowledge of Carbonated Soft Drinks and associated beverage products (Manufacturing, Handling and Storage requirements)
    • Operational experience in QSE area (Knowledge of Food Safety, Food
    • Engineering, Packaging, Microbiology, and Chemistry principles, KORE process control programmes, Statistical process control programs and applications in manufacturing control.
    • Good knowledge of Local and International Food Regulations (CODEX, NAFDAC, SON, FCCPC)
    • Experience in compliance and audit management systems in food industry
    • Excellent leadership skills and Excellent collaboration skills.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supervise and drive all quality improvement efforts across bottling operations to prevent product quality issues.
    • Ensure all laboratory equipment, water treatment systems, and syrup mixing processes work properly and meet CCH, TCCC, local and international standards.
    • Lead the digitalization agenda for sensory analysis, microbiological monitoring, incoming goods checks, water treatment and syrup manufacturing.
    • Train team members on SPC use in sensory evaluation and process control.
    • Maintain updated lists of sensory panelists for finished goods checks and CIP sensory checks before line release
    • Coordinate full implementation of Food Safety Management System in the facility.
    • Keep accurate records of line release protocol execution for all production lines.
    • Oversee quality testing for all ingredients, raw and packaging materials, in process checks, intermediate products and finished products to ensure high quality output.
