Receiving and Inspection:

• Receive deliveries of construction materials, equipment, and supplies at the site.
• Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Inspect delivered items for quality, quantity, and compliance with specifications.
• Report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate personnel.

Storage and Organization:

• Allocate storage space for incoming materials and equipment.
• Ensure proper labelling and categorization of items for easy identification and retrieval.
• Implement inventory control measures to prevent loss, theft, or damage.
• Maintain a clean and organized storage area to facilitate efficient operations.

Inventory Management:

• Monitor stock levels and track the movement of materials and supplies.
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with records.
• Inform the Project Manager of depleting stock to ensure timely replenishment of stock as needed.

Issuance and Distribution:

• Fulfil requests for materials and equipment from construction teams.
• Maintain accurate records of materials issued and distributed, including recipient details and usage.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Generate reports on inventory levels, consumption rates, and stock movements.
• Document any incidents, losses, or damages related to inventory and report them to the Project Manager.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly or periodic inventory reports for project stakeholders.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Implement proper handling and storage practices to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Participate in safety training programs and promote a culture of safety among site personnel.

Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and procurement staff to support project goals and objectives.
• Communicate effectively with site personnel to understand their needs and priorities.
• Provide assistance and support to colleagues as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the site store.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess an OND / HND qualification in any relevant area with 2 - 4 years relevant work experience.
• Have good computer knowledge
• Must be able to write reports
• Have data entry knowledge
• Must have good knowledge of store management.

Description and Responsibilities 
Cost Estimation:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop realistic budgets and cost plans for each phase of the project.

Procurement and Contract Management:

• Assist in the procurement process by preparing tender documents and evaluating bids
• Administer contracts throughout the project lifecycle, including issuing variations, assessing claims, and resolving disputes in accordance with contractual obligations.

Value Engineering:

• Identify opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality or functionality through value engineering techniques.
• Evaluate alternative materials, construction methods, and design solutions to achieve cost efficiencies while maintaining project objectives.

Quantity Measurement and Documentation:

• Measure and quantify materials, labour, and other resources required for construction activities.
• Prepare bills of quantities (BOQs) and other documentation for tendering, procurement, and payment purposes.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities, measurements, and cost data throughout the project lifecycle.

Compliance and Reporting:

• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing construction contracts and procurement practices.
• Prepare regular reports on project costs, progress, and performance for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• HND or BSc in Quantity Surveying.
• 5 years experience as a QS
• Have good computer knowledge
• Must be able to generate BOQs
• Must have good knowledge of construction materials
