Solutions Engineer - Technical Account at Vennote Technologies Limited

Client Overview

• Are you a technically-minded Solutions Engineer who enjoys working directly with customers as much as working with code? 
• We’re looking for a Technical Account / Solutions Engineer to be the on-site link between our product team and a major telecom operator client in Lagos, Nigeria. You’ll be based at the client’s office, acting as the day-to-day technical point of contact, understanding their needs, supporting them on our platform, and relaying requirements back to our engineering team. 
• This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid technical foundation and telecom awareness who wants to grow into a client-facing technical role.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary on-site technical liaison between the client and our engineering team, based at the client’s premises.
• Understand the client’s needs, gather requirements, and translate them into clear technical briefs for our developers.
• Provide first-line support on our telecom monitoring platform, troubleshooting issues, answering technical questions, and escalating to the core team when needed.
• Learn our product and codebase in depth (with training from our team) so you can confidently explain how the system works and diagnose issues.
• Reproduce, investigate, and document reported issues; help verify fixes on-site.
• Coordinate between the client and our team on deployments, updates, and technical communication, keeping both sides aligned.
• Build and maintain a strong, trusted working relationship with the client’s technical staff.
• Keep abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience.
• Minimum of 4 year of professional experience in a technical role (development, technical support, or a similar hands-on position). 
• Mid-level understanding of telecom concepts is required (e.g. mobile networks, operators, signalling/CDRs, connectivity), solid telecom experience is a strong plus.
• Solid understanding of TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Working knowledge of backend development with Node.js / NestJS and frontend development with Angular/React.js.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
• Experience with MySQL / SQL databases.
• Basic experience with Docker containers.
• Proficient with Git and version control systems.
• Comfortable reading and understanding an existing codebase (you’ll be trained on ours).
• Excellent communication, customer-facing, and team collaboration skills, this role is as much about people as it is about technology.
• Willingness to be based on-site at the client’s location in Nigeria.
• A strong desire for continuous learning and personal growth.

Nice to Have:

• Prior experience working in a telecom operator or vendor environment.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role (technical support, solutions engineering, professional services, or similar).
• Exposure to real-time systems, monitoring, or data-heavy platforms.
