    Senior Specialist, Facilities, Road Safety & Logistics Technical Advisor

    ob Purpose

    • Advise, Design and Implement safety strategies and controls to reduce health, safety and environment risk in IHS critical business facilities, vehicles, security & logistics operations

    Key Roles & Responsibilities

    • Implement and enforce IHS corporate HSE policies and procedures to ensure operations are conducted in safe and efficient manner in compliance with legislation, company and client requirement.
    • Exercise authority to stop any unsafe operations, where immediate corrective actions cannot be implemented.
    • Conduct technical safety studies, risk assessments and identify appropriate and cost-effective risk mitigation strategies/solutions for critical business facilities- offices & warehouse, security operations and motor vehicle operations.
    • Implementation of company fleet safety programs, policies and procedures to reduce road traffic incidents in IHS value chain.
    • Facilitate HSE policy awareness/roadshow sessions for employees across the organization.
    • Ensure regular maintenance and functionality of emergency equipment such as the fire alarm and detection system, firefighting system and emergency communication devices in IHS critical business facilities- Offices and Warehouses
    • Conduct planned drills testing of emergency preparedness and evacuation plan to ensure business readiness and resilience across offices and warehouses. Identify gaps for improvement.
    • Support and advise leadership on strategies for effective management of all items on the company HSE risk register.
    • Periodic audit and engagement of critical business partners/vendors to ensure compliance with HSE standards and company HSE requirements within the fleet, facilities, security, warehouses operations.
    • Monitor compliance with all applicable HSE laws and international standards.
    • Continuously Identify and implement HSE process improvements to reduce business risk or exposures.
    • Monitor the implementation and control of planned temporary and permanent changes that impact HSE performance in business facilities (offices and warehouses) and fleet operations.
    • Identify HSE Training needs for various stakeholders and equip them with the right knowledge to execute safety strategies within their process
    • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Associate, HSE.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences and/ or any other relevant discipline.
    • 10-15years’ relevant work experience.
    • Possess valid NEBOSH international General Certificate (IGC) in Occupational Health & Safety
    • ISO HSE-MS Certifications e.g ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018
    • Membership of relevant professional body (ISPON, NES, IOSH, IIRSM, etc.)
    • Must have excellent communication and report-writing skills.
    • Demonstrate practical risk assessment skills, monitoring, policy making, writing procedures and planning
    • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.

    Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Analyst

    Key Roles & Responsibilities

    • Has the authority to stop any unsafe operation where immediate corrective action cannot be implemented.
    • Manage departmental budget, monitor expenses, and prepare variance reports.
    • Plan monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement of HSE tools, items, and services — including raising purchase requests, generating purchase orders, and processing invoices.
    • Ensure first aid boxes are adequately stocked across all facilities, and expired medical items are promptly and responsibly disposed of.
    • Coordinate food safety programs, including regular canteen inspections, hygiene compliance audits, and food vendor HSE performance management.
    • Issue prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to employees, maintain accurate issuance records, and update the organizational PPE database.
    • Track and report monthly inventory of HSE assets and consumables, ensuring adequate stock and timely replenishment.
    • Facilitate and coordinate HSE awareness events, campaigns, toolbox talks, sessions, and conferences in collaboration with relevant teams and stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with HSE training manager, HR and other departments to deliver the approved annual HSE training plan, including identifying training needs and evaluating effectiveness.
    • Manage the HSE SharePoint site and documentation system ensuring compliance with global standards
    • Maintain current and accurate documentation of HSE procedures, SOPs, and governance frameworks; support stakeholders to remain compliant with corporate and regulatory standards.
    • Conduct HSSE prequalification for all partners across the organization prior to onboarding and engagement.
    • Implement company fleet safety programs, policies, and procedures to reduce road traffic incidents and promote defensive driving culture across IHS's value chain.
    • Lead investigations for all road traffic incidents, identify root causes, develop corrective actions, and ensure lessons learned are communicated and embedded.
    • Carry out risk assessments for business activities across offices and operational locations, identify hazards, evaluate controls, and recommend cost-effective mitigation strategies.
    • Support HSE Senior Specialist to ensure continuous improvement in facility safety, including inspections, compliance, and emergency readiness.
    • Manage and coordinate emergency first responders across locations, including readiness drills, training, deployment, and response evaluation.
    • Facilitate governance meetings with fleet, warehouse, and tank farm partners to monitor safety performance, track action closure, and drive continuous improvement.
    • Lead and support periodic HSE audits, inspections, and compliance assessments for operations, vendors, and facilities; contribute to closing findings and tracking improvement plans.
    • Maintain oversight of contractor HSE performance through routine engagement, compliance spot checks, and onboarding briefings.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Associate Director, HSE.

    Qualifications

    • First Degree in Engineering or Science or any related field
    • Membership of relevant professional body (ISPON, NES, IOSH, IIRSM etc.) is an added advantage
    • 2+ years’ relevant experience in similar position.
