    School Accountant

    • The school accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the institution, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with accounting standards and school policies.
    • The role involves maintaining financial records, preparing reports, managing budgets, and supporting the school’s mission by ensuring prudent financial management.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Management

    • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including fees, salaries, procurement, and other expenses.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management and board review.
    • Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure smooth financial operations.
    • Develop and manage the school’s budget, ensuring funds are allocated appropriately.

    Compliance & Reporting

    • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and school policies.
    • Prepare and file statutory returns (e.g., PAYE, pensions, taxes) in a timely manner.
    • Provide financial reports and analysis to support decision-making by school management.

    School Operations Support

    • Manage student fee collection, issue receipts, and maintain accurate records of payments.
    • Work closely with the admissions and administration teams to reconcile student accounts.
    • Support payroll processing for teaching and non-teaching staff.
    • Assist in procurement processes by verifying invoices, quotations, and supplier payments.

    Internal Controls

    • Implement and monitor internal control systems to safeguard school assets.
    • Conduct periodic audits of financial records and processes.
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks.

    Collaboration & Communication

    • Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
    • Communicate financial information clearly to management, staff, and stakeholders.
    • Provide guidance on financial matters to non-finance staff when required.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in accounting, preferably in an educational institution.
    • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
    • Professional certification is an added advantage

    Hostel Manager - M

    Position Overview

    We are a Muslim school seeking a dedicated and compassionate House Master/Manager to oversee the welfare, discipline, and personal development of students in our boarding house. The ideal candidate will foster a nurturing, structured, and faith-centred environment that supports both academic excellence and Islamic character development.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide daily supervision, emotional support, and mentorship to boarding students.
    • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their wellbeing and personal growth.
    • Promote Islamic values, discipline, and social responsibility in all aspects of boarding life.
    • Monitor student hygiene, health, and conduct; refer serious concerns to appropriate school personnel.
    • Encourage regular participation in prayers, Qur’an recitation, and Islamic studies.
    • Support students in developing good adab (manners), akhlaq (character), and a sense of brotherhood.
    • Organize faith-based activities, halaqas, and weekend enrichment programs.
    • Supervise study periods and ensure a quiet, focused environment for academic work.
    • Liaise with academic staff to monitor progress and address learning challenges.
    • Encourage time management, goal setting, and personal responsibility.
    • Maintain accurate records: attendance, health logs, incident reports, and inventory.
    • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student welfare and performance.
    • Manage maintenance needs, supplies, and logistics within the boarding house.
    • Lead and coordinate assistant house staff, tutors, and matrons.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to address student needs and house operations.
    • Ensure adequate supervision and adult presence at all times.
    • Take inventory of the hostel appliances, equipment and items.
    • Manage the hostel resources and installations.

    Requirements:

    • Age 35 and above preferred.
    • Previous experience in boarding house management, or a similar role.
    • At least 3 years of experience in a residential school, boarding house management, or student welfare setting.
    • Strong understanding of Islamic values and ability to model them in daily interactions.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage emergencies and maintain discipline with compassion.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to foster a structured, disciplined, yet nurturing environment.
    • Understanding of child welfare, safeguarding policies, and conflict resolution.
    • Proficiency in record-keeping, administrative duties, and use of technology.
    • Strong emotional intelligence, problem-solving abilities, and ability to manage children and teenagers effectively.
    • Ability to teach basic subjects.
    • Tech-savvy.

    Qualifications and skills:

    • A diploma or degree in Education, Health, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
    • A background in nursing, teaching, or counselling is often preferred, as the role involves student welfare and health management.
    • First Aid and Child Safeguarding certifications are highly beneficial.
    • Training in conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, and behavioural management.
    • Knowledge of health and hygiene regulations for residential facilities.
