    Sales Associate

    The Role

    • Hello Tractor has grown significantly in a short span of time in the African market. We now have a marketplace of over 3,000 tractor owners and operators servicing over half a million smallholder farmers across 13 countries in Africa and 3 countries in Asia.
    • However, despite the huge potential for the service, there is a shortage of tractors to fully service smallholder farmers’ demand for services, and banks generally do not lend to rural communities.
    • To address this, Hello Tractor recently launched a Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) tractor financing product in partnership with Moody’s and Mastercard to unlock low-risk, low-cost tractor financing for rural, under-banked entrepreneurs servicing smallholder farmers.
    • Hello Tractor has a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Sales Associate . You will be working with a world-class team of professionals who are passionate about what they do and will expect no less from you. Having an insatiable hunger for learning new methods, processes, and technologies and improving existing ones is critical.

    Responsibilities
    Sales Process (HubSpot):

    • Conduct outbound calls to potential customers( tractor owners), to introduce Hello Tractor's services, explain its benefits, and initiate the sales process.
    • Utilize a personalized approach to address the specific needs and challenges of each potential customer, addressing any questions or objections they may have by understanding the customer’s need and wants before informing the customer on the benefits of Hello Tractor’s technology.
    • Follow up on previous interactions and maintain regular communication with leads to nurture relationships, build trust, and move them through the sales funnel.
    • Keep detailed records of outbound call activities, including notes on conversations, Outcomes, and next steps, to track progress and facilitate effective follow-up.
    • Regular sales reports to track performance against targets.

    Lead Generation - Facebook & HubSpot:

    • Reach out to potential clients via phone calls, emails, or in-person meetings.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
    • Using social media platforms to generate leads eg Facebook.
    • Using a referral program to generate leads (giving incentives to our existing customers or anyone who refers over 3 people).
    • Reaching out to Facebook communities to expand Hello Tractor's reach.

    Social Media Management - Facebook:

    • Respond to customer inquiries and provide information about our products and services.
    • Create Facebook Ads to reach targeted audiences and drive traffic to Hello Tractor's website and generate leads.
    • Monitor page insights and analytics to track performance metrics such as reach, engagement, and audience demographics.
    • Plan, develop and schedule posts on the Facebook page to increase brand awareness, engage with the target audience, generate leads, and drive sales.
    • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and reviews on the Facebook page in a timely and professional manner, fostering positive relationships with followers and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
    • Analyze performance metrics and insights to continually optimize the content strategy, improve engagement, and achieve key objectives such as increasing reach, driving website traffic, and generating leads.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, (Marketing & Customer Support) to align social media efforts with broader business goals(posting for the booking agent training to generate a list of interested people).

    Who You Are

    • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field
    • 2+ years in sales, marketing or similar roles, preferably in a tech or Agricultural organisations.
    • Proficient in HubSpot or similar CRM tools.
    • Strong outbound sales skills and ability to close deals.
    • Skilled in generating leads via social media as well as referrals.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
    • Ability to track and analyze sales/social media performance metrics.

    Account Manager

    • We have a fantastic opportunity for a PAYG account manager who can work at a high level across the organization, while liaising daily with customers at the ground level.
    • You will be working with a world-class team of professionals who are passionate about what they do and will expect no less from you. Having an insatiable hunger for learning new methods, processes, and technologies and improving existing ones is critical.
    • Passion to apply technology to meet the needs of smallholder farmers and tractor owners is an absolute must. If this is a good mutual fit, you will display a history of customer-centricity, detail-orientation and take great pride in timely delivery excellence.
    • We are looking for people who are passionate about creating a great experience for our PAYG customers within and outside our mobile applications.
    • Are you comfortable liaising with farmers, mechanization service providers and tractor fleet owners? Are you meticulous about quickly resolving on the field issues of our customers? Are you entrepreneurial and driven by performance incentives? Then we need you!

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure a deep understanding of the HT solution, technology, and PAYG product to enable meaningful discussions with new and existing PAYG customers.
    • Daily review of customer account analytics for the assessment of key field needs, risks, and improvements.
    • Daily and weekly check-ins with PAYG customers to review activities and opportunities for the coming week.
    • Work with PAYG customers to link them to demand, connect with local farmer organizations or NGOs, and appropriately document/complete the booking within the app.
    • Source monthly/quarterly data on operating costs (fuel, contractors, maintenance, etc.) from PAYG customers.
    • Quarterly and ad-hoc field visits to PAYG customers for asset health checks and field training.
    • Work with data team and internal booking agent leads to ensure adequate route optimization and booking efficiency.
    • Prepare and execute strategies to improve asset productivity, based on historical data and projections.
    • Aggregate weekly productivity metrics and share weekly invoices with PAYG customers.
    • Aid PAYG Credit Team in the reconcilement of settled PAYG customer invoices.
    • Monitor monthly covenant performance to plan, assist PAYG customers in meeting targets, and share progress reports with the PAYG credit team.
    • Aid in PAYG account contract originations (data capture, validate pre-bookings, provide guidance to candidates).
    • Help with the facilitation of asset repossession, immobilization and probation.

    Who You Are

    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree required
    • Master’s degree will be an added advantage
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in account management, business development, and/or customer support
    • Ability to interact among technical, business and operations teams
    • Energetic, highly motivated, self-starter, with excellent communication skills
    • English and local language proficiency
    • Exposure to credit products (fintech, banking, microfinance, BNPL, etc.)
