    Medical Officer

    Qualifications:

    • Medical degree from a recognized institution.
    • Valid license to practice medicine in Nigeria.
    • Additional certifications or specialization in a specific medical field is an advantage.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Medical Officer.
    • Familiarity with Health Management System (HMS) is an advantage.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including physical examinations, medical histories, and diagnostic tests.
    • Make accurate diagnoses based on clinical assessments and test results.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients, considering their medical conditions, preferences, and limitations.
    • Prescribe appropriate medications and therapies, and provide patients with detailed instructions and education regarding their treatments.
    • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
    • Perform minor surgical procedures, such as suturing wounds, removing cysts, or draining abscesses.
    • Provide emergency medical care to patients in critical condition and coordinate with the medical team to stabilize patients before further treatment.
    • Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including patient information, treatment plans, medications, and test results.
    • Stay updated with medical research, advancements, and best practices in the field, attending conferences or workshops as necessary.
    • Adhere to all medical ethics and patient confidentiality guidelines.
    • Provide guidance and supervision to junior medical staff, interns, and residents (if applicable).
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of hospital protocols and policies.

    Working Conditions:

    • The Medical Officer will primarily work at Immaculate Heart of Mary Specialist Hospital.
    • The role requires frequent interaction with patients, medical staff, and administrative personnel.
