Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company procedures and policies;
• Managing and delegating to subordinates as required
• Compile programme based cost to complete / project budgets
• Advising on procurement strategy;
• Preparing subcontract documents, including bills of quantities;
• Procurement of subcontractors;
• Preparing and analyzing costings for tenders;
• Managing costs on a wide variety of projects
• Undertaking costs value analysis including cost value reportin
• Performing risk and value management and cost control;
• Identify, analyze and develop responses to commercial risks;
• Analyzing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports;
• Price up variations and obtain agreement with client
• Valuing works as they progress
• Provide commercial advice to the site team as and when required;
• Preparing and analyzing costings for tenders;
• Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use.

Requirements
We are searching for Quantity Surveyors who are experienced as a commercial lead on multiple projects with the following qualifications and skill set:

• Candidates should possess a B.Sc Degree in Quantity Surveying with minimum of 3 years work experience.
• To be methodical, pay attention to detail and be accurate
• Experience in housing construction
• To be good at working with people at all levels and willing to work in a team.
• To be willing to accept responsibility for completing designated tasks.
• Ability to analyze and process technical data.
• The ability to manage workloads to ensure performance targets achieved.
• Good Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good Knowledge of construction contract law would be an added advantage
• Ability to advise on the financial aspects of construction
• Working knowledge of all types of building & construction contracts
• Ability to travel regionally and nationally
• Should be able to visit and inspect construction sites including climbing and descending ladders and scaffolding where necessary.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage the Building Services contracts and responsibilities for the electrical & mechanical systems
• Report to the Project Manager the progress of the works in relation to the approved works programed and to review the works programmed from time to time to achieve the objective of the contract
• Ensure that the contractual obligation are preserved and informed the Project Manager of any deviation from the contract
• Ensure cost control of site works and identify the variation to the contract that involve claims both from the sub-contractors and client
• Liaise with Senior Quantity Surveyor on contractual matters when necessary
• Liaise with Design Coordinator on all design matters
• Liaise with authorities if necessary in the absence of the Assistant Project Manager
• Ensure quality control of documentation as the designated Quality Engineer under the company’s ISO 9000 programmed
• Oversee the construction works, testing & commissioning works completion
• Monitor the Contractors coordination with the Utilities Providers and the optimization and progress of all utilities diversion works
• To ensure that interfacing among different disciplines/contracts be properly coordinated
• To attend progress meetings with the Subcontractors and Contractors and ensure that the meeting minutes be properly recorded and filed
• To assist the Assistant Project Manager in monitoring the performance of the Supervising Consultant
• Undertake all other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the management.

Job Requirements

• Recognized Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 3 years of working experience in management of major projects.
• Sound knowledge of handling complex build project with fast track record
• Good organization, excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
• Good command of written and oral English
• Knowledge in mechanical and electrical as they relate to public and private works projects.
• Knowledge of the principles and practice of Quality Control Assurance
• Knowledge of modern methods, materials and equipment employed in infrastructure or other heavy construction.
• Have experience in building projects.
• Knowledge of effective principle and methods utilized in inspecting major construction projects.
• Knowledge of the laws, buildings, work permit.
• Hands on experience in Construction Management and project Management.
• Those with building experience will be an added advantage.
• Must have experience in heavy and direct exposure Civil & Infrastructure Engineering construction.
• Strong leadership & communication skills.
