    Quality & Lab Manager

    About the role

    BURN is looking for a Quality and Lab Manager who will be in charge of supervising the production process to make sure that all products meet consistent standards. The individual will be tasked with developing and implementing quality control tests, inspecting products at various stages, and writing reports documenting production issues.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    Quality Roles:

    • Manage quality department, including training, hiring, firing, workflow, schedules, etc.
    • Develop & refine:
    • Specs
    • Quality measuring methodologies
    • Incoming QC procedures (IQC)
    • Lot traceability
    • In‐Process QC procedures (IPQC)
    • Daily and monthly QA reports including corrective measures
    • Final Inspection
    • Control quality globally, ensure the quality of materials before they arrive in the factory
    • Leadership within quality as BURN expands across Sub-Saharan Africa
    • Drive improvements in the company’s operations (production, quality, materials, etc.)
    • Quick and clear communication with the GM, CTO, Production & Engineering Manager, Supply Chain Manager, etc.
    • Document Control
    • Factory Environmental Health and Safety Protocols

    Lab roles:

    • Be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Lab and ensure that good laboratory practices are implemented, documented, and sustained.
    • Lead, develop and mentor the Lab team
    • Responsible for purchasing lab supplies or preparing ordering lists.
    • Drive improvements in testing methodologies, use of equipment, instrumentation, and procedures by investigating alternatives; developing and performing parallel testing, and monitoring progress
    • Analyze data and prepare reports

    Skills and Experience:

    • 3+ years experience as a quality manager
    • Background in mechanical or process engineering degree
    • Experience working in a sheet metal processing plant
    • Conscientious and responsible
    • A keen eye for detail and a result-driven approach
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
    • Proficient in MS Office
    • Understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards
    • Working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods

    Supply Chain Manager

    About the role

    BURN is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, exceptionally organized person to take on the role of Supply Chain Manager.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Inbound Logistics – organizing export with foreign suppliers and liaising with freight forwarders and regulatory agencies.
    • Monitor all inbound cargo until received in the factory.
    • Vendor relations (including contract manufacturers)
    • Supply & Demand Forecasting – work with the management team to determine ordering needs, lead times, etc.
    • Outbound Logistics – work with freight forwarders and pertinent government regulatory agencies for correct documentation and processes are adhered to for any exports from our company.
    • Coordinate strategic sourcing, planning, and logistics activities for the business.
    • Maintain material resources planning and logistics activities for the business.
    • Facilitate activities with departments in the clarification and development of clear and concise specifications for materials, products, equipment, and services.
    • Work with the R&D team to help guide new product development
    • Assist in ERP implementation and training
    • Work with warehouse manager on raw material control and material call-offs for replenishment
    • Work with the Quality Manager to ensure the quality of our raw materials meet set standards, whether being procured in the country or in other countries
    • Drive continuous improvements in the supply chain.
    • Work with the central procurement team for any international procurement and feedback on quality or any raw material and equipment issues affecting production processes.
    • Lead team in negotiations with vendors/carriers to gain the required service levels at a price point that enhances organizational profitability.
    • Onboard local suppliers using the set criteria.
    • Lead supply chain team in identifying risk mitigation requirements.
    • Lead company exemption and tax reliefs for import of materials, equipment, and spares
    • Facilitate organizational activities to mitigate risk
    • Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, and Logistics or related field
    • Previous experience in the supply chain, procurement, or similar
    • Detail oriented

    • Excellent communication skills
    • Comfortable with Excel
    • Good understanding of country laws on tax and duties and HS codes.
    • Previous working experience as a Supply Chain Manager for 10 years
    • Hands-on experience with supply chain management software such as preferably Microsoft Navision, SAP, Syspro, etc

    Warehouse Manager

    About the role:

    BURN is looking for a Warehouse Manager who will supervise all activities of the facility, oversee team performance, expedite the receiving and shipping of goods, and ensure efficient and organized storage.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Manage all Receiving, Warehousing (both in-house and third Part / Consignment), and Dispatch operations.
    • Manage all transactions into (Receipts) and out of (Shipments) the Microsoft NAV system
    • Manage all Issuances to Production and all other Departments within the Microsoft NAV ERP system.
    • Initiate, coordinate and enforce new and existing programs, and Personnel Policies and Procedures. across all BURN warehouses.
    • Ensure compliance with government regulations regarding warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements in line with existing and new legislation.
    • Safeguard warehouse operations and material by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
    • Ascertain and update inventory levels by conducting cycle counts and updating the ERP system.
    • Work with members of the Supply Chain team and management to ensure reliable inventory planning.
    • Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
    • Assist top management to achieve financial objectives by analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions that keep them to a minimum.
    • Manage warehouse staff by recruiting and training employees.
    • Maintain warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications as and when required or available.
    • Ensure continuous improvement across all warehouse areas

    Skills and Experience:

    • 5+ years of warehouse management experience.
    • A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as supply chain management, logistics, and business administration.
    • Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures.
    • Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.
    • Proficient in MS Office
    • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Outstanding leadership, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong people skills.
