    Proposal Writer- HIV DSD

    Job Summary

    The Proposal Writer will lead technical proposal writing for a HIV/AIDS focused project in Nigeria. He/She will contribute strong technical content for the proposal which involves the provision of technical assistance to national and subnational governments in LMICs on differentiated service delivery models on HIV self-testing, key and vulnerable populations HIV prevention services, and virtual interventions for HIV prevention, testing and treatment. This is a remote position.

    Personnel Requirements

    The Proposal Writer should be able to provide technical inputs on HIV differentiated models of care that can be utilizable and sustainable in various LMICs. He/She should be knowledgeable and provide technical insight and inputs on prevention, testing, care and treatment on this proposal. S/he should also be aware of current HIV care and treatment challenges and offer best solutions on how to provide targeted interventions to different low-and-middle income countries (LMICs).

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Work with the New Business and Grants Manager to review key proposal requirements in line with donor’s guidelines and templates.
    • Draft full solution and technical approach for the proposal.
    • Develop activity plans and inputs to the budget development processes which will be led by the proposal development team.
    • Coordinate final review of the technical and cost proposals before submission.

    Required Skills and Experience

    • Advanced degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Laboratory Sciences and other medical sciences**
    • 5+ years of technical expertise and experience in health systems strengthening projects with focus on differentiated models of care on HIV/AIDS in low-and-middle-income countries.
    • Experience providing technical assistance on HIV/AIDS (ideally, on DSD models) to national and subnational governments in LMICs.
    • Prior experience working on successful Global Fund proposals would be ideal.
    • Experience in developing winning proposals for large-scale programmes.
    • Experience working on projects in HIV priority prevention and treatment acceleration countries.
    • Ability to comply with the estimated timelines and workdays.
    • Available to start work immediately.

    Duration and Availability

    The consultant should be available for this effort from 25th May- 4th June, 2021. All final deliverables shall be submitted to the Proposal Development Team as agreed in a schedule presented to the selected consultant. The consultancy fee will cover 1 FTE per day.

    Data Collection Field Officer

    Job Overview

    • This position is for a short-term project and 18 data collectors are needed. The data collectors will attend various trainings, administer structured surveys, collect, and upload data related to the exercise.

    Responsibilities

    • Administering questionnaire-based surveys
    • Accurately collect data from trainings and assigned schools using electronic data collection tools (ODK and other software) or paper
    • Timely and meaningfully support information flow from the field to the supervisors
    • Adhere to all data collection protocols during data collection activities
    • Must attend and participate in trainings and workshops
    • Available for the entire duration of the assigned monitoring exercises and willing to travel to select training workshops and schools in the assigned LGAs.
    • Maintain cordial public relations with local stakeholders including government officials, students, school heads, teachers, other monitors and community members through observing meaningful and respectful engagement in the course of field work
    • Must score 80% or higher in the test after the training, to participate in fieldwork
    • Other duties as may be assigned by supervisors

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of B.Sc from Biological Science or Social Science background from a recognized university. University post-graduate students are at advantage.
    • A minimum of 2 years work experience.
    • Familiarity with Lagos State
    • Must reside in one of these LGAs or very close to it: Ajeromi-Ifeledun, Apapa, Badagry, Epe, Eti-Osa, Ibeju/Lekki, Kosofe, Lagos Island, Ojo and Shomolu LGAs
    • Fluent in the local language.
    • Previous experience in survey work and carrying out questionnaire-based surveys.
    • Available for the duration of the project- 8th March to 4th May 2021
    • Experience in electronic data collection using open data kit (ODK) or related software.
    • Attend full training for independent monitors and pass post-training assessment.
    • Individuals must score 80% or higher in the post-test in order to participate in fieldwork.
    • Available for the entire duration of the assigned monitoring exercises and willing to travel to select training workshops and schools in the assigned LGAs.
    • Ability to comply with the estimated project timelines.
