    Production Engineer

    Location: Odogunyan, Ikorodu - Lagos

    Job Purpose

    • To plan, organize, and optimize the entire production process in the fabrication workshop to achieve on-time delivery, maximum productivity, minimum wastage, and strict adherence to quality and safety standards.

    Key Responsibilities
    Production Planning & Scheduling:

    • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production plans based on sales orders, project priorities, and delivery schedules.
    • Allocate manpower, machines, materials, and cranes to each job using ERP or Excel-based planning tools.
    • Monitor progress against plan and adjust resources to meet deadlines.

    Process Optimization & Efficiency Improvement:

    • Identify bottlenecks in cutting, fit-up, welding, NDT, blasting/painting, and assembly stages.
    • Implement lean practices, 5S, and productivity improvement projects (reduce cutting wastage, improve welding deposition rate, reduce rework).
    • Calculate and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): tons per man-month, welding efficiency, first-time-right rate, OTIF (On-Time In-Full).

    Material & Resource Management:

    • Raise material requisitions and follow up with stores/procurement for plates, electrodes, gases, consumables.
    • Control and reduce scrap and off-cut wastage.
    • Ensure optimum utilization of cranes, rolling machines, welding machines, and plasma/oxy-fuel cutting machines.

    Manpower Management:

    • Supervise welders, fitters, grinders, helpers, riggers, and subcontractors (100–300 workers depending on workload).
    • Conduct daily toolbox talks and weekly production meetings.
    • Arrange skill training and welder qualification tests.

    Quality & HSE Compliance:

    • Coordinate with QC department for stage-wise inspections and resolve quality issues on the shop floor.
    • Ensure all welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and welder qualifications are valid.
    • Enforce use of PPE and safe working practices (working at height, crane safety, gas cylinder handling).

    Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain daily production reports, man-hour logs, material consumption reports.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly production MIS for management review.
    • Update job progress in ERP system (if available).

    Cost Control:

    • Track actual vs budgeted man-hours and material costs per project.
    • Highlight variances and take corrective actions to keep projects profitable.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • B.Sc. / HND in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
    • Minimum 5–8 years of experience as Production Engineer / Planning Engineer in heavy steel fabrication, pressure vessels, or structural steel industry.
    • At least 3 years in a supervisory role in a busy fabrication yard (experience in Odogunyan/Ikorodu factories is highly preferred).

    Dimensional Inspector (Fabrication & Welding)

    Location: Odogunyan Industrial Estate, Ikorodu - Lagos 

    Job Summary

    • To carry out accurate dimensional inspection and verification of fabricated steel components, welded structures, machined parts, and assemblies to ensure full compliance with engineering drawings, client specifications, and international standards before release for painting, galvanizing, or dispatch.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform 100% dimensional inspection of fabricated items (beams, columns, trusses, tanks, pipe spools, platforms, etc.) using precision instruments).
    • Verify weld profiles, weld sizes, straightness, squareness, twist, camber, hole positions, and bolt alignment against approved drawings and tolerances.
    • Use and maintain measuring tools: vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bevel protractors, spirit levels, laser levels, tape measures, CMM (if available), and custom go/no-go gauges.
    • Prepare detailed dimensional inspection reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and release notes.
    • Witness and verify third-party inspections when required.
    • Ensure all inspection records are properly filled and filed for traceability (daily reports, job cards, inspection checklists).
    • Support root cause analysis for dimensional deviations and recommend corrective actions.
    • Comply with company HSE policies while working on the shop floor and at heights.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Minimum: OND or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, or related discipline.
