    Product Lead

    Job Description

    • A digital bank with the goal of unlocking growth for small businesses across Africa by making it easier for them to get access to working capital is looking for a user-focused Product Lead who can expect the unexpected!

    • This is an opportunity to help build our clients foundational product and business by leading the product strategy and execution across every aspect of what they build, both those that exist today, and those that will be built years in the future.
    • The right product leadership will help the business to scale faster and realize this potential.

    Requirements
    Your daily adventures include:

    • Develop the short term, multi-year vision, strategy and roadmap across all products targeted at the Nigerian market
    • Drive product design and prioritisation decisions across directly managed teams, as well as teams who partner closely on related experiences within the business
    • Be accountable for product roadmaps, resource allocation, and release cadence 
    • Deeply understand customer needs by spending time with customers, sales, and support and observing patterns/trends across their feedback and the market
    • Work directly with potential SME customers to understand their needs and how the business can solve for them
    • Work closely with engineering, design, and data science, customer development and user-facing teams to deliver great products to their customers
    • Lead initiatives to build 0 → 1 products and experiences

    What it takes to succeed:

    • 3-5 years of experience in a product role 
    • Be a well-rounded and strategic product leader – someone who has excellent product design/UX sense and strengths in Nigeria’s market dynamics and marketing strategy
    • Strong user acumen: You enjoy digging into the details of user and developer needs, identifying how to make it better, and building product/technical solutions to do so
    • Experience designing and building surprisingly good consumer-grade products in order to help modernize B2B experiences
    • Engineering partnership experience: You have partnered closely with engineer leadership to build products and complex systems at scale
    • Strong stakeholder management: You have experience navigating difficult situations, negotiating timelines, and influencing internal and external stakeholders
    • Operational savvy: You are a strong operational leader, capable of driving a cross-functional team and process 
    • Crisp communicator: High attention to detail including precise and effective communications, including with external customers/partners
    • Determination to do whatever it takes to make your product and team successful
    • Entrepreneurial experience and/or enjoys moving quickly on new, green-field products

    Compliance Manager

    Job Description

    • You will need to be an independent worker, who knows their way through the compliance space.

    A Bit About the Role

    • This position supports the Legal, Risk and Compliance Function, which develops and provides oversight of AML/CFT,
    • Sanctions, Risk management, licensing and strategic compliance matters for the business. You would need to steeped in
    • AML compliance, able to operate in a fast moving, fast growing start-up with a strong culture of compliance.

    Responsibilities
    Your Mission:

    • Manage partner bank and strategic partner relationships
    • Supporting licensing efforts in coordination with the Licensing team and other resources
    • As the Second Line of Defence, you will be supporting the Local MLRO in overseeing and reporting all anti-money laundering and prevention of financing of terrorism escalations, High risk reviews and related local processes and escalations for the business’s products and liaising with appropriate regulatory authorities
    • Assist in driving all local compliance matters including the following:
      • Review applicable legislation and regulatory requirements and advise leadership on existing requirement and any changes thereto to ensure that the business consistently complies with these compliance requirements;
      • Monitor appropriate internal policies, processes, and controls for the business in respect of key legal, regulatory, and ethical obligations
      • Conduct appropriate risk assessment frameworks to be used as a guide in identifying, eliminating, and mitigating risks facing the business’s operations
      • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues while also providing general guidance on avoiding or resolving similar future concerns
      • Provide regular reports to keep the business informed of the operation and progress of compliance activities
      • Conduct where needed staff trainings; both at an introductory and continuous basis to all employees, to ensure a cogent understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures in respect of the business
      • Be a key point of contact locally for regulatory reporting and engagement.

    Requirements
    What it takes to succeed:

    • Have a minimum of Bachelor's Degree, Advanced Degree preferred, and if you also have certification(s) from Professional bodies relevant to the financial services sector that’s a plus
    • At least a minimum of 3+ years of experience in financial services related role
    • Be passionate about what you do and being in the Fintech or Payment space
    • Able to demonstrated experience to independently manage, organize and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, responsibilities, and competing priorities for yourself and the team
    • You have demonstrated subject matter expertise
    • Have a global mindset.
